Konrad Saleen

According to lmsr.net the Konrod Saleens are back in Europe...I guess this means no Saleens in the ALMS 'til PLM

Erki has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Sadly his Saleens are not up to Vettes' and Astons' level anyway. hich is a pity.

This has been a known for some time. The Weickardt/Konrad relationship was falling apart as early as Sebring, and came to an end at Houston. Frankly it was a suprise that Konrad showed up at Mid Ohio, and it was a known they wouldn't be around after LM. It would appear as though you are correct, no Saleen's until PLM.

On the bright side, there appears to be momentum building for GT1 finally, with three manufacturers being tied to future programs... it's about time.

Oreca has made it known they would come to PLM, who knows maybe even ACEMCO or other European teams. With the ALMS, what would stop Tom Weickhart from running a Saleen on his own?

Viper GTS-R*** should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I'm happy to see Konrad back at Oschersleben for the 3th round FIA GT, but i'm afraid they can't do something in the GT1 class. It's still a 1st generation Saleen (Konrad/GNM/RML) and can't do something against the second generation (ORECA/Zakspeed). Look to Balfe Saleen (ex GNM), Balfe has improved the Saleen but still can't run as good as the new Zakspeed prepared Saleen. But for made a bigger entry list it's positif Konrad returns to FIA GT, and there where rumours that they olso will compete the 24 hours of Spa. Look to the race of past year, RML or was it GNM had taken part with it. Gread pilot's but not a fast car, but they take 10't position avoral. Nice done for that car, first of all ride out the 24 hours
Now i wish al the Saleens good luck, and specialy the older'n Saleen editions

According to Johnny Mowlem on DSC it looks like the sun has set on the Acemco Saleen. That is very sad, it was my favorite car every time it took to the track.

From DSC - Franz Konrad told them he'll be back in the ALMS later this season with two top drivers.

Does Konrad still run a Supercup team?

Seems to me the Saleen program is winding down and he's trying to get some use out of the existing chassis.

I reckon the best thing Konrad could do is to send his S7R's to ORECA for an update . How can he expect to attract potential drivers if his cars are a shadow of other S7R's ? Its not rocket science !!!

Mariantic is now quoting Autosport that Konrad will return to the ALMS at the Portland round. Let's hope it sticks right through the Mosport round!

Well, so much for Portland and Road America. I guess in keeping with the GT1 thread, it's highly unlikely we'll see a Sleen this year outside of PLM.

The St. Pete entry lists only has Konrad down with 1 Porsche (not even sure if its the 996 or 997).

If you look at the official list on the IMSA site, there are 0 Konrad Porsches for St. Petersburg. I think the 997 was Kaufmann/Luca Moro (Luciano da Silva, Luciano da Moro, whatever lie of the week you pick), which probably means Luca bought it. Franz didn't sound too sure where he was running it anyways, though the ALMS was the original plan. Wonder if Luca is banned now, after a reasonable amount of outcry over him being allowed by IMSA to race at Sebring. He should be. That could mean no Konrad Porsche though.

Um, the entry list clearly has Konrad on it?

Unless they changed it?

Just loaded one off www.imsaracing.net. There are 11 GT2 entries: 1xRLR, 2xPTG, 1xP/WL, 2xFL, 1xTransSport, 2xRisi, 2xTafel.

Just to update you,the ALMS isn't running at Portland this year. Too bad about Road America,I would have liked to see them run. The ACEMCO Saleens at Mid-Ohio on 2005 were always fun to watch.
