EBXR8 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
We’re not going anywhere: Johnson

http://www.v8supercars.com.au/conten..._dick_johnson/

Finally Some Good News,

DJR will not follow down the dark road.

On the deveolpment side however i still see the DJR cars up there next season taking the fight to the newly named TR888TORS.

All 888 give DJR is the Chasis the engine etc is all built in house by DJR.

Also M e-news reports the Jnr Johnson is looking to have a new multi year deal signed with DJR before months end.

Finally a little bit of stability, could DJR return to the old days of being FORDS front running team, will Dick's Loyalty to the oval pay off with some increased support in the coming year. Lets hope So.

With Jr there there's every reason to doubt DJR will be a future force.

Currently Sitting 5th in the championship, would have had another top 5 or ten result on sunday if the mechanics had not forgot to remove the fuel filler blanking. Jnr seems to be driving quite well atm IMO.

Bloody hell, yet another idiot post!!!

This press release will be great for DJR, those 'lost' 888/Ford fans will pick up on this and come knocking on DJ's door looking for merchandise. Good news and a smart move.

With 8 Ford engines in rotation in the shop, its near to $1m of hardware that they would have to replace, DJR would likely not have the economic conditions in place to effect a change to Holden without additional sponsorship

... and not to mention the cost of buying 3 new Commodore chassis.

Also, there's going to be no market for used Falcon chassis, even before the Team 888 cars are up for sale, so they would be stuck with them in the workshop as well, or have a fire sale.

Might be smart for DJR to buy one or more of the surplase 888 Fords at seasons end.

That's something I was thinking as well. An up to date spare plus you might get some of 888's tricks left on it.

I'm sure PCR would also want to get their hands on one or possibly both for the same reasons.

Let's see now, how many of the above drivers have won at least one race ON MERIT!

SSbaby still remembers Jr's only win on the tight, unpassable, reverse grid race in Canberra.

Oh it's all gone quiet over there...

Didn't Rick Kelly win the championship without winning a race....or close to it. Surely the ability to consistently score points by finishing ahead of most of the pack and keeping out of trouble is an indication that a driver is using his head rather than his b*lls...... More strength to your arm SJ!!

What's your point? SJ will win the ch/ship!?

Rick Kelly won one race and he won the ch/ship when it mattered. That shows his mettle. Btw, how many Bathursts has Jr won?

My point is that you don't have to be a round winner to win the championship. You have to drive consistently towards the front of the pack...which SJ is doing this year. Nothing more, nothing less.

And how many race wins have DJR had while Junior's been driving for them? The team's hardly been a tour-de-force... While I'd stop short at calling him a "Superstar Hotshot", he's solid, he rarely bends the car and he collects points... Given the situation the team has been in for the last few years, I would have thought that was just what the doctor ordered.

SSbaby has obviously formed an opinion on Junior based on something other than fact.

For the record, Junior finished second in Qualiying, then grabbed pole in what was a Top 15 Shootout, before winning the race from pole.

Then in the "tight, unpassable reverse grid race" as you've kindly called it, he came from the back finish 12th. In the third race of the weekend he started 5th-ish, finished 3rd and took out the weekend (one of two round wins that year....)
