Speculation based on evidence is fine but you should probably call it as that. Headlines of "Exclusive" "Confirmed" "Will Retire" is a slightly different story

My understanding is that she's not directly contracted to either Nissan or the Kellys, so her management (Mr Jewel) and benefactor (Supercars) could place her anywhere, regardless of how the Nissan thing has washed up.

SdS, with Ms Mayer on the cans at Triple Eight could be an interesting marketing angle.

The general feeling from those close to the catagory, is that the potential is there. By there, meaning not at Nissan.

If SdS was a backmarker in virtually anything other tgan a Kelly Krate, I would agree.

There is great connection with the fanbase, with regular exposure to people thru activation at Harvey Norman stores before and between rounds.

There is an otherwise untapped market to connect with 50% of the potential fanbase overall. Needs the credibility of race results to help this along.

Which won’t happen in the 4th Nissan.

But would definitely have the opportunity to do so at 888 or Tekno...

It could be good if she was in a 4th 888 car, with CL providing mentoring for her - in some ways similar to the relationship that he had with Mr Brock.

The combination of CL and SDS would certainly be a fan-friendly team, SDS would be in a good car and have a solid benchmark in the other team car to judge her performances and learn from.

Win all round - feels unlikely to happen though.

SdS would make a great seat filler at Tekno. As others have said, she brings sponsors and a fan base and a great way for Mr. Lowndes to mentor someone who doesn't have the level of experience in touring cars as most of the field. Plus she lives on the Gold Coast.

Seems a rather logical choice.

CL was within one second of Button when they were fanging the F1 car around Bathurst; albeit 6 or so years ago.

Dude's clearly got something going on.

How would he fare against SdS in an Indy car, or Formula E?

I'd say he'd win in an Indy Race; and Formula E being nothing, it wouldn't matter.

I think she has talent and in an 888 car would be further up the grid, then again what would I know!

Probably could be said for anyone in the field.

This is not directed at you Mark, but I not sure of the thought process that reached a conclusion that a mid-pack Indy Car driver is ever going to be a front runner in Supercars.

I think SdS has talent and deserves to be in the championship with a better car under her than the Kelly Krate. That doesn't mean I think she'll be a consistent winner or championship contender, it means she's like at least half of the field.

As much as they might think they are all champions, surely most of the drivers out there are realistic enough to realise their job is to put in a good showing, get some exposure for the sponsors and have a good time. If things fall their way they'll get a win but most times it will be a great pass for 15th place that will keep them happy until next time.

She was never a front runner in Indycar, even when she had front-running equipment, so I'm not sure that comparison would mean a lot.

Having said that, I think SdS would do a third T8 car justice
