Don't underestimate the ability of Lowndesy. Is it the car that makes the driver or the driver that makes the car. Example, 2000's Bathurst, 2000's Qld 500, fords were set to win except for driver error and miscalculation from the pits that allowed holden to win. 1999 same thing, fords were fastest around the mountain, I do recall Larko setting the fastest time ever in a V8 supercar to take pole, the Rat was quickest all day, until an error and hit a slower car. So therfore don't write Lowndesy off. Prediction for 2001 Lowndesy and Ford will win.

Yes,
Lowndesy is the man, but not The Great Man. That title was to go to the Late Greg Hansford. Who would have eaten you all for breakfast! |

The late great Gregg Hansford was definitely one of the best (and a great 2 wheel racer too).

Yes fellas,
I couldn't believe it when he died. Of all the stupid things, I just couldn't believe it. And he was such a nice bloke too. Thanks for backing me up on this one. |

From what I remember before I left these shores, Alan Moffat was The Man. Before him, was Harry the Firth, who used to dominate Touring cars for Ford. Then he did the unthinkable and left Ford to set up the Holden Dealer Racing Team. That was th first time I saw spoilers on the front of cars on the Torana. Then of course Brock was THE MAN, no one can dispute his importance nor his domination. Next year, Craig will be the Man in a Ford V8. I know this has upset TWR who is threatening to sue Craig out of spite.

We'll just have to wait and see I guess. The odd win to me seems a possibility, bu championships are out of the question until 2002!
