re UK too, indeed, the Aussie version shares the same "Who Dares Wins" motto.

ISTR SAS used to have flights to/from Aus.

As many have pointed out the connection is the number 27 on each car, I wanted to see how many of you lot had picked up on the fact that it is often something blindingly obvious that defines the clue, and leads to the answer. Many past puzzles have seen people wandering off into the boondocks when the signpost says straight ahead.

Mind you not all puzzles are equal.

Ask any driver, amateur or pro, EB and he will tell you "from world champion to total jerk takes only a fraction of a second". We had and still have a lot of specialists here!

It was a stupid idea in the first place so I am scrapping the whole thing due to significant gaps in my knowledge of cars later than 1959.

Some have the right idea but I don't.
