There were a couple times with a car completely sideways in the TA2 race and cars could get by. The marshals helped and were aggressive in their gestures to make sure. TA2 is a mix of racers and rich guys and they made it.

Now if a car breaks, wing off or suspension, all bets are off there, yup we're looking at you Cody, and possibly JJ

Pit lane looks a bit dicey to me. The Peacock coverage has mentioned the difficultly of funneling down to a single lane exit over the transponder, with some guys missing it even before the race. Could be much worse with everyone pitting under yellow. The kink in the pit lane could be another problem.

Perhaps there won't be any yellows when they are in the fuel stop window. I'd say that's about 80% unlikely.

Reference to the TA race reminds me of Sam Moses's book "Fast Guys, Rich Guys, and Idiots". I would have to read it again to know what category he put himself in after stuffing a very good GT1 car into the turn 1 wall before ever making a lap in the 1983 Daytona 24 hrs.

That looks like just a racing incident, he checked up from the 2 in front of him and then Ed was already trying to make the move. Can't argue against a penalty but don't think it deserves one

This race is gonna take forever at this rate

I'm surprised to see so many pit so early. Seems likely another yellow will be coming, perhaps close to keeping within the 2 stop strategy.

Newgarden really mired in the back, but perhaps the early stop will play into his hand.
