Hulkenberg is likely to leave for the DTM to work with the BMW team.

I heard it on C4 coverage, just a shame, while he still has plenty to offer in F1

It seems very likely that Robert Kubica will make his DTM debut next year, quite possibly with WRT. However, this is not the only option. He'll be at Young Drivers Test and reportedly will drive both Audi and BMW.

Fabio Scherer and Ed Jones announced at WRT team which means the Belgians have all-new squad for 2020. It means both Fittipaldi and Aberdein are out and while I expected the former to continue his career elsewhere, the latter really impressed a few times last season and deserves a DTM seat. Will he possibly move up to a factory Audi team? I wonder whom he may replace there.

...to make place for Robert Kubica I suppose.
Sad to see Spengler go especially as it was not his own decision.

I'm a bit concerned about the future but Kamelger has reiterated a few times that they will be on the grid, they just want to announce the plans when everything is sorted out. Maybe they're waiting until an engine supplier, all drivers and some possible sponsors are signed.
Otherwise, Aston's future looks pretty dim.

Well, I think Aston have started too many projects in the last two years and the DTM will be the one to suffer.
The new Vantage GTE and GT3 came, and they have factory backed projects even in the IMSA and Japan. Then they started the DTM project and building the hypercars, where rumours say, that will be four of those, which is a really big project on the scale of the brand. And to put the cherry on the cream, they announced their make series for Europe.

Ok, I know that the cars are run by different teams (Prodrive, AF, R Motorsport etc.) but having so many programs for a relatively small manufacturer like Aston Martin will be really hard to maintain, and to be competetive in the same time.

The DTM project isn’t an Aston thing it’s all R Motorsport. Aston don’t put any resources into the DTM programme.

Do they have a chassis?

According to journalist René de Boer last year cars have been sold to China.
Who owns the design of those cars? R Motorsport or HWA?

Will they be in DTM this year? It all looks worse and worse. And di Resta said about Le Mans and DTM clash that this doesn't bother him as for now there's no drive in DTM...

On the other hand, Ferdinand Habsburg, who's doing millitary service in Austria, claims he'll be in the DTM in 2020.

I hope something is done about it. DTM has been through trying time before, although I can’t remember the future being this uncertain. Maybe they need Super GT’s help again?

Gerhard Berger says that the DTM’s organising body remains in talks with potential new entrants following the departure of R-Motorsport.

i think dtm is now in real big trouble for 2021. audi and bmw will certainly pull out if they are the only two manufacturers

That is fake news.
Now it is a good time for someone to turn up at HWA's door and get those cars up and running again in DTM.

It needs a shot in the arm. BTCC had it's dark period with thread bare grids and recovered.

Problem with DTM is big thirsty massively powerful cars are not in fitting with todays world, or at least todays Europe.

How much longer will BMW and Mercedes stick around? Audi has gone away to play electric, BMW has previously said Formula E is an objective when the technology allows a car to run race distance. At the rate of current battery development I'd say we're getting close to that.

Will Mercedes stay in a one make series? Can't see it.

Will we end up with grids full of private teams running ex works cars?

Mercedes has already left DTM they withdraw at the end of 2018. Its BMW and Audi that remain.
