1975DCS should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rolf Volland's Fabia in "Auto Review"!

In the German magazine "Auto Review" of Edition Number 3, March 2008 is a review of the Skoda Fabia of Rolf Volland.

The thing I noticed most is that he still uses the 1763cc 16V Hohenester engine, which he also used with succes in his previous Golf III.

With the use of this block he differs from the other VAG engines currently being used in Rallycross Div 1. Because I think Ron Snoeck is using a Diesel shortblock mated to a 16V head, while Ronnie Scheveneels is using a rebored or restroked 20V and I believe the Trollspeed as used by Lars Larson are also different...

I think he is also one of the few who is in the 3000 cc weight category...

Never heard of a German mag named "Auto Review". Do you mean the Austrian mag "Auto Revue"? BTW, it is the Å*koda Fabia of René Münnich now.

It could be Austrian... It is translated from Germany, that's for sure...
What is Rolf going to do? Fabia II?

Austrians don’t need to "translate" German, they speak (at least some kind of…) German.

There was a test on Rolf’s former Fabia in the German "Auto Zeitung" some weeks ago, see here http://www.rallycross-dm.de/html/mod...rticle&sid=462 and here http://autozeitung.de/online/render.php?render=100507. Possibly another mag got permission to publish it as well…?

Here http://www.rallycross-dm.de/html/mod...rticle&sid=486 a Story about René Münnich and what he is doing at the moment. As the Fabia is completely stripped he bought also an old VW Golf of Volland to practice his 4x4 driving. Therefore, he has rented an old airfield and looks for possibilities to convert it into a new Rallycross track. The tarmac there is even good enough to "play" with one of his two Lamborghini Murciélagos (see pic), previously used in the FIA GT series.

Rolf Volland himself is quoted here http://www.rallycross-dm.de/html/mod...rticle&sid=469 to build a new Škoda Fabia 1600 for the Division 1A, based on the Fabia S2000. While Münnich will do both, the ERC as well as the so-called DRX (DRC), Volland is once again focussing on the German Rallycross series.

I made "a late night" mistake. The post below should have been: translated from German to Dutch...

??? Has the Fabia test also been published in a Dutch mag or has someone translated the text (or parts of it) for you?

The complete magazine is translated in Dutch and available for 2,99...
The article looks the same as in "Auto Zeitung", same pictures at least...

Since a couple of years a lot of German & English magazine are available in both Dutch and the original language. The later for those who don't like the "computerlike" translations... Or maybe for German and Polish?

Okay, understood. I guess Rolf would love to get a copy… For sure not available in his native Bavaria.
