I asked this question last year and was unable to find any answers. However, if you search on the American Le Mans Series forums there's some info on there that talks about possible frequencies.

I'd be interested if anyone has any recommendations as well. I have a vested interest in knowing exactly what one of the teams is doing, so if I can get a scanner at about £100 it would make my job a bit easier (or at least a bit better informed)
