That second row seems like an accident to happen into the first corner...

Just watched the qualifying session. Stoner is feeling the pressure. He has already received a penalty for trying to kick Checa of his bike, he has lashed out to journalists and he didn't seem a very happy bunny when returning in his garage after qualifying.
He shouldn't have to worry if you ask me. HE WILL BE THE CHAMPION. If not tomorrow, it will be in PI. I still give him a good chance tomorrow, that Ducati is a rocketship of the startline (where Rossi is usually asleep) and he has shown he has the speed at Motegi. |

IMO Stoner-Rossi-Pedrosa and perhaps Hayden are the main characters in this part of the season. Where are the Suzukis in Motegi? Particularly Vermeulen.
Now that Honda seems to be better, Melandri is being irregular. Being a great rider, this has not been a good season. I have heard that West wet his tyres just before his last qualifying run. Results: second row. |

Well, if Stoner has the pace (which he does) it will be nice to watch him come through the field for once. Something that I don't think we've seen him do yet. In fact, that could be an awesome sight. He may have to chase down Rossi and or Pedrobot. Could be very good.
It's easy to see why Hayden likes the qualifiers. It's probably the only time he likes the feel of the Honda's front end. I also have to ditto the Suzuki comments, wtf? Quote:

Good to see Yunichi Ui back in the 250s as a wild card.
He must be eligible for an old aged pension by now! |

Melandri topped a wet-dry warmup session, with more rain predicted for the rest of the day.

IMO Dovizioso's only real hope is that it rains in upcoming races as well. I'm very happy that Kallio won, his first win in quarter-litre class. Seems like becoming father hasn't slowed him down.
125 title fight stays alive. Gabor is known as better wet rider, Faubel seemed to play quite safe. |

Bummer, still wet. THis should be a Bridgestone walk over at their test track, where they do all their wet tyre testing...

Stoner 6th and with some points whereas Valentino Rossi finished well down the chart.
Is that enough points for Stoner to claim the Title? Mike |

Congratulations also to Loris! He gets his hat trick!
Great rides also from DePuniet, Guintoli, and Elias. Honorable mention to Westy. Finishing 7th after a ride through and a bike change. |

This race has to go into the book as the race with most mistakes made.
West a jumpstart (therefore not deserving an honourably mention ), Vermeulen messing up his start therfore no chance for victory anymore. To me it was clear early on slicks were the tyres to have. I couldn't believe it the top 4 was staying out that long. Than Yamaha put a cut slick under Rossi's bike, WHAT A MISTAKE. I was screaming at the telly. Pedrosa was going for another lap on full wets but than he crashed. After that the race and championship were over. Maybe I should send my CV to some of the teams . |
