With apologies to the Magazine of the MG CAR CLUB (its their title) I thought I should bring something to everyone's attention.
If you look at "Website Announcements" you will find a post from Gerard concerning Sparky. He has suffered a quite serious accident and I am sure we all wish him and his family well. Unfortunately he suffered his accident whilst working on a race car so I would like to remind everybody that when working on a car please ensure that the normal rules of safety are followed. Don't rely on a jack for support. Make sure the car is properly supported. Always make sure that there is somebody nearby (buddy system) who can check on you on Occasion thereby ensuring that if you have an accident you will be discovered. Always detach the battery from the electrical system. Just a few pointers but worth bearing in mind at this time. I will post this in the Racers Forum as well. |

Basic common sense for us Automotive types along with don't unpressurize a cooling system the hard way and don't stand 2 feet in front of a Scania truck when it's about to set off as you are lower than the line of sight....joking aside, it's a bloody dangerous game which is often taken lightly at Club level to some peoples' chagrin....be careful, it's a jungle out there!
