I don't doubt that but where does it say that in that twitter thread?

Absolutely.

Tweeting Carol Vorderman, embarrassing. Bert needs a lesson.

Didn't expect it at all. Honestly I was hoping for AWE. It's been a long time since Boardman last raced in BTCC. Not that I want to be rude but I reckon Boardman + MG combination is likely to be a backmarker.

what a waste of a seat.
I knew it wouldn't be Jackson unfortunately, but was hoping AWE at least.

Another year at the back for MG then

Dear Cicely.

You don't need sponsors. Embrace bankruptcy and just run the car all black for this season.

Thank you kindly.

Jackson definitely not interested in the MG drive then.

Why a waste? He's a good driver. You don't just forget how to drive

I guessyour right, he will probably be fine, id just rather it went to a youngster than someone whos been out of the series for a few years and has no experience in NGTC, especially with AMD apparently wanting to push up the grid. lets see how he goes.

That would seem to answer the drop from 3 winners in contention for a seat dropping to 2! Imagine that’s down to one now as another ‘race winner’ has been confirmed today. Hope Tom hasn’t lost his pace whilst away.

id say Tom was always the 1 with the 3 dropping to 2, with MJ not interested that makes it 1 race winner, a rookie (I still think that will be AWE who was a rookie last year) and an also ran in contention..

Place your bets.....

One name I’ve not seen mentioned is Hunter Abbott, outside bet as the non-race winner non-rookie?

So Boardman is back with AMD MG, that's good.

Last season we had Chilton, Jelley and briefly Huff returning. Now this season we've got Nash, Tordoff and Boardman returning. Seems the BTCC is being taken very seriously and as a result we've got a top class line up

Interesting article on Autosport Plus about how Neal contacted Jackson for TD and when it didn't happen Barty tried to work it out with MJ, but nothing really came of it. That's the theory anyway

Actually thought about this too just last night... Haven't heard anything from him this year I don't think; I would be very happy if he were to come back!

Interesting, I don't subscribe unfortunately but on that basis it reads like Bartrum agreed to release him but when he didn't get the drive at Honda, Bartrum welcomed him like some sort of prodigal son but he didn't want to go back?
is that the theory?

I think you are being very unfair, they will be midfielders.

The article doesn’t specifically say Matt contacted Mat, it says there was contact but not specifically who picked up the phone.

What the article does well, is put to bed the nonsense about TC or ST forcing him out, even then then though, it’s cagey and they hit the nail on the head when they said they won’t ever know the full truth.

Side note, based on a bit of ASI hearsay about a 5th Passat, some other sightings of it this week, and a badly timed FB post I’m going to say that Friday might be the day Team Hard enter a 5th car for Trade Price Cars owner Dan Kirby 😉
