Paul Dumbrell massive improvement
i tell you what, if there's two drivers i tip my hat to, it'd be um someone and paul dumbrell
i'm just stoked at what this guy's done for perkins this year. since he moved for the development series to the main game he's been well off the pace, hiding around in the middle of the field. this year it's brilliant! he's consistently in the top ten, and he had a great performance at winton this year. he said in an interview that bathurst '05 was a turning point for him. and i think i really was. it's good to have ur teammate up there racing with you, cause richo's been lonely the past few years. let's just hope they can keep the good form to bathurst... and hopefully the championship. by the way Eva, if you're reading this... your cousin rules. |

Jesus! I'm looking at wiki for the supposed improvement of Paul's during '06. From 3 seasons where he was 20th or worse, to 12th! It doesn't take much to impress some, I suppose.
So, with all those posts that were deleted on the Bathurst thread. I had considered, during that time, that Paul was possibly the weakest or least talented bathurst winner in it's history. Really, by default Barry Mulholland is. But Baz never had a fair chance at it. However, considering the rules, regarding what drivers are allowed to pair up (of which a guy like Paul benefits greatly), Paul's success on the weekend can be compared Barry's. The team looking at the guy saying "Yeah, you'll do. You can't stuff up the little we ask of you!" Got to log off now. Will add further, later. |

I don't rate him as a racing driver.

Nope. Yeah, Percat's win would be one of the weaker ones. With the rules, regarding pairing the drivers up, it's become clear that this is the case and will continue on to be like this. Even with Skaife. I don't think he drove a lap past half-way in '10. He didn't have to make anything happen, he wasn't driving under pressure, he wasn't the slightest bit tested. If Percat's career does progress, it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't rate the '11 win, and will be hungry for another. A win where he makes a bigger contibution, instead of just holding his wicket, if you know what I mean? No. |
