tblincoe should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
performance of LMP2 class

the performance of the new LMP2 cars has not been discussed yet and i think it should be as the factory c65 has gone a lot quicker than i thought possible... i mean this car beat out a lot of relatively quick LMP1 cars! pretty surprising as i thought that all of this class would get swallowed up by the GTS cars for sure. maybe these cars can get up near the top during an endurance race provided that they stay reliable

Like I said after qualifying, the performance of the day.

If this car can run a 3.41, then a good LMP1 should be able to do a 3.35 at least.

i doubt it. the JMG car is really just the JMG car. the other 2 drivers in the car are paying (no offense to Sam Hancock, hes an alright driver).. and the other cars are hanging back there.. i still say either Intersport or an WR will win. (and there will be 1 or 2 finishers)

Hate to say it, but LMP2 is shaping up to be an even worse disappointment than I had feared. The class needs serious rethinking. With regrets to teams that have invested in new machinery, if it were up to me I would scrap it in 2005.

The WR's might finish 1-2 in this thing. Which, would be pretty funny since they were dead last many laps down after the second hour.

Considering this is a new class with brand new machinery at essentially their first endurance event, I find that comment baffling. Scrap the category because of one event?

The LMP2 cars performance has been one of the highlights for me. They are relatively 'cheap', compared to a GTS car, yet have shown these cars a clean pair of heals.

Given a years development, including running in the
LMES, and they should be pretty reliable.

It seems obvious that the AER turbo is not th way to go.

Didn't the AER in the Courage run faultlessly. I though they went out with a gearbox problem.

I think it is obvious this engine has a huge advantage over the othe engines power wise, and with the EVO II motor arriving, and the likes of Dyson pushing the development forward, teams should stick with it.

I went through the official race reports and read that the 31 had to withdraw due to engine failure. The question now is to see if these problems were caused by the previous gearbox problem. I'll have more news on that later.
