Been out on a tractor all day. Had to tune to Radio 5 - poorly researched , childish and idiotic as usual. Switched off before the end of Q2 Honestly is this the best BBC can do? Switched back on later to hear Gow and her cronies speculating that Leclerc crashed on purpose !!!! What???

In fairness, the moment it happened at least a half dozen bad jokes comparing and connecting this to the Schumi/Ferrari incident crossed my mind.

It was the inevitable connection and one which i suspect everyone made in that moment.

Havent seen anything yet, but did the press also press young Mick to also comment on it?

I was instantly reminded of Schumacher in 06 when Leclerc crashed, however I'm not suggesting he did do it. I think everyone is just having a bit of a laugh.

I see the point and am not in complete disagreement. But it would be a shame for drivers to reign in their 110% qualifying effort for this issue. Leclerc was so lit up on Saturday and he deserved the pole that he got, in my opinion. For that to be stripped after a genuine mistake would not just be an injustice to him but also rob us of what is hopefully going to be a thrilling race this afternoon. My two cents.

Pathetic by Sky today. Major breaking news with Leclerc’s gearbox, pictures of him getting out the car with Ted frantically wanting to comment, but oh no. The Hamilton feature has to be shown.

Not as bad as the director missing potentially the only interesting thing to happen all afternoon on track (Vettel coming out of the pits right in front of Gasly and Hamilton) in order to show a replay of Stroll bouncing over a kerb. And then (on channel 4 anyway) they cut away from the onboard replay of the same incident to show someone in the pit. So frustrating.

Not the fault of sky or ch4. The commentators on Sky at the time were equally as frustrated with the director for cutting away.

Never heard of Gow prior to "Drive to Survive" and conclusions drawn / speculation put forward at times indicate complete lack of understanding of the subject matter. Clearly not just a Netflix thing but the normal state of being - rather sad and pathetic really.

Yeah, it was back to the bad old days of local directors at each race - it was a lacklustre race & you can't polish a turd but the director could have done much, much better - missed a number of key items through the course of the race.
