Well, usefull informations Pascal and Nordic ; I didn't know there's was such a gap between ACO face value tickets and agencies...

It is after all, a profit making enterprise and the people operating it are not necessarily car enthusiaists as you and whou would do it for a friend, free.

They are `fronting' the money for six months and doing some clerical/inventory work.

Granted the tickets take up little space but you are talking about BIG money (£74,500/€50,898, not counting the transfer & exchange fees).

Who ? The agencies ?

For ACO, i can insure you that it's a non-profit association, which was facing bankrupcy in 1993, for 15 MF.

The money is shared between ACO, ASA 24 hours and the track owner (a public association) :
- ACO : to keep on organising event
- ASA 24 hours : for the 24 hours event
- circuit assciation : to keep on improving the circuit and stuff around.

In 2003, they had 220 000 people to come the whole week, and 110 000 paying people the week-end of the race (sources : ACO).

The MRI Brochure landed on my door mate today - they are charging £54 for GA and £135 for Lagache. Hopefully my Grandstand ticket will work out a little less than that........

Costs (last Le Mans Racing issue):
- Audi spent 45 M€ to win,
- a F1 team must give two or three timte more than this, according to Porsche
- customer Audi : 4 M€ (to expensive for rafanelli team, who was interrested)
- Pescarolo budget : 3 M € for the whole season
