Turbos on bike engines
i as just wondering how much SAFE horsepwoer you can get froma stock bike engine. i want to build a car with a zx10, zzr1400, hayabusa or gsxr1000 engine in but also want to turbocharge it. i want the car to be reliable and i also want it to run on stock internals etc, so how much horsepower can you get safely while running stock internals? all the engines are between 180-190hp standard
cheers in advance adam |

I would think searching the Drag Racing sites for Turbo bikes would be a good place to start, I would think 400hp is well within the capabilities of the stock internals, perhaps a decompression plate may be needed,

There is no substitute for cubic inches!!
BUT.... these bike engines have soooo much potential. When once we were all dreaming of Cosworth BDH's, bike engines have come along, with their light weight, revving until beyond tomorrow, and brilliant horsepower potential - with or without a spot of blow. Those guys at Holeshot are on the ball - though expect big bill$$$ when they need a bit of a rebuild! |
