Absolutely! But without the sound of thunder if they do.... And why not enter both cars? They'll be entering two cars for LM anyway so the logistics of bringing both cars back to the US in time for the Watkins Glen race remain unchanged and would air shipping two instead of one car to Europe in time for the Portimao race make such a big difference? |

Algarve and Spa are slated to be essentially held behind closed doors with no fan attendance.
In more positive news, Corvette Racing will officially run at least Algarve before Le Mans. |

I haven't heard/read anything official, but not good if Glickenhaus indeed won't make it. Then again, if the season opener was still Sebring they didn't expect to race until Spa.

It will be a pity not to have SCG at Portimao but not that surprising given where the car is in development.

Glickenhaus could have been there if the series organizers would have allowed them to homologate their car after the Portimao round (but before Spa) and give the same bit of leeway to Toyota. After all, there are only 2 new cars in the new top class and if Glickenhaus was Peugeot, the ACO and FIA probably would have jumped through many hoops to accommodate their bridesmaid. The fans deserve a bit extra excitement from the series and their top class after some rather lean years recently.

I know Corvette has not had a good history..although brief... in non-Le Mans WEC races, but this one I think they will be very strong. |

Given the circumstances and various unknowns, I wonder whether a lesson could have been learned from IMSA's Roar this year and perhaps the Portimao round could have been a non-Championship race, equivalent to the usual prologue.
If a P2 does win, it's not a good look for a World Championship round. |

I wonder how much slower the P2s will be.
No doubt Toyota will be well prepared but they will have the only unproven cars in the field. The extra 2 hours might be a bit nerve wracking. |

I hope the Toyota is barely faster than lmp2 so the aco reevaluates its 'bop'. But I think with 670, 680hp on tap and free aero that wont be the case.

Not really a surprise about the delay to Portugal round, they still have not vaccinated many of there own people and the risks of large numbers of drivers/support staff arriving is just not going to make things better.

Not sure this was in doubt but Corvette Racing have confirmed their presence at Spa and LM, and a wish to continue competing in the WEC in future. Makes sense considering the investment made and it's the only way into Le Mans at present.

Cetilar produced a gorgeous Ferrari! And Fouco replaces long-time driver Belicchi, joining Lacorte and Sernagiotto. |

Beautiful car. The custom number fonts will be interesting to see this year - particularly when they are illuminated. Seen a few different ones - could be cool, could be messy.

Not all Ferraris need to be red, and this is one of the best examples out there. I really liked Cetilar's liveries over the years, so it's nice to see they are continuing with their usual colour scheme.

Takeshi Kimura (Team CarGuy) tells about budget details of WEC.
https://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/2...000001-n1.html It costs about 500 million yen for 8 rounds of the WEC series. However, I am very helpful because I have received a lot of support from Kessel Racing. Since I participate in the race with my own vehicle, the cost is cheaper. Ferrari GTE cost a total of 180 million yen. The vehicle itself costs 838,000 euros and the options are about 10 million yen. In addition to 5 million yen including transportation costs to Japan, consumption tax is also charged. TOTAL's racing fuel costs 900 yen per liter. The engine life is 20,000 km, and it costs 20 million yen to replace it, so per 1 km is 1000 yen. If you calculate the transmission in the same way, it will be per 1 km 500 yen. Tires can be replaced with new ones after running for 30 to 40 minutes, which costs 400,000 yen per set. |
