Alan Morgan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I much prefer cycling with others as well. British Cycling may be able to help with finding a local club. I'm very lucky in that my local club (Woking CC) is very welcoming to newcomers and not at all cliquey. As a result, it has members with a very wide range of fitness levels and abilities - I hope you can find something similar.

Next project and coming all the way from Indianapolis, USA after a spell in Washington state is this Zipp 3001 from 1996-1998. Quite an exciting one and apart from the groupset, screws and saddle, it should end up as a full Zipp/SRAM build. I've always loved the brand which used to be a carbon fibre supplier for indycar and teams in the US for a number of years prior to cycling taking over completely.

I always thought I would own cars, turns out it's bikes...

Bikes are easier to store/hide! I'm down to 3 cars now, and 3 bikes . . . but still got 5 Lambrettas. I've even whittled my bass guitars and amplifiers down to single figures each.

But what about the scalextric? That will take some storage space if fixed to a board.

There's a chap on a cycling forum I frequent that has a ZIPP 2001 which he's converted to single speed with Gates carbon belt drive and a psychedlic paint job.

Interesting build, these were used in track cycling by Canadian team so I could understand the conversion, belt drive is smooth and takes away the need to service the bike BUT given the nature of the bike, I would have kept it a race time trial one. They are rare thing, not so much the 2001 but 3001 even more and particularly in Europe.

If anyone fancies a ride around Snetterton, here's a route I did last Friday. Quite an easy ride in calm conditions. I suspect it would be a lot more challenging if it was windy.

Sure its nice and impressive. My wife enjoys a Sparta and the quality is impressive, motor, battery and all accessories like tires and tubes. La Hollande n'est pas le pays du vélo roi pour rien !

Went for a very hilly ride in South East Devon today. About 64K and 1100M climbing. Iain had to retire early unfortunately due to mechanical issues. Lovely roads though and great scenery wherever you looked. Now at Wiscombe Park for what is looking likely to be a very wet hillclimb.

Be nice to see any British rider win, but yes! Simon needs to get 2018 behind him, and I am sure he has learnt from the disappointment.

Ethan Hayter leading the Tour of the Algarve, despite falling in the TT looks like another home grown talent.

British riders are now amongst he best in the world so there is hope for you and Iain. A glittering future lies before you both.

Bob.
