Not really keen on standing around on the banking of Tertre Rouge at 8 in the morning watching the sun rise if the temperature is so cold my face freezes. Although cars sliding about on the frost might be interesting.

One week ago, fr governement was so careful : "we don't change the rules". One week later, rules have changed, mask is down on the most part of faces...

In two months, i think the situation will be almost normal again

The situation has been said normal or safe each time we are being called to the polls, like this weekend for instance.

Like you I think and do hope that with two months to go the H situation will be much better -if not normal yet- and the management of other major events will bring a lot of learnings.

We have now circa 27% of adults fully vaccinated (one, two or three jabs). At this rate, its reasonable to think that all the adult population will be fully vaccinated at the end of September. Everything is improving fast, a good reason to hope GT6. Never give up!

Was planning on camping in Malmedy during Le Mans raceweek, but yesterday morning I deciced "Screw you, I'm going to Le Mans!" so I bought two tickets for Epinettes

Hopefully will see a lot of you guys in La Sarthe end of August

One story doing the rounds in the UK is that those who have been double jabbed will be able to visit "amber" countries without the need to quarantine on return. Could apply from end of July.

Although my tickets are now secured, that is, when/if snailmail arrives........ I'm still not confident, what if..........., log in doesn't work so I can't see if there are still tickets left, I see someone posting cues of people in front of the ticket office. Fingers crossed they cone through. And than there is my employer who has to agree with my days off. Fingers crossed.

Today, french minister of culture Roselyne Bachelot announced : 100% of capacity for concerts outside, with health pass checks.

Just checked my ACO account to see my invoice. It clearly states I have tickets for this years race, coverted to this years possibility, if I am correct, it looks like it is a reservation. Got parking rouge instead of Arnage/Mulsanne. It is not possible to change. Let's wait for the snailmail.

Yes last week with my brother we called the ACO that confirmed that. The credit notices are transformed in "booking notices" we have to confirm for parking, grandstands (no guarantee to get the same usual places )

Just in case I get that wild hair. I've seen mention of UK and EU residents being able to attend with vaccination or PCR test. Anyone know about Americans? I'm fully vaccinated. Maybe one of you will end up with an extra ticket and need an obnoxious American to join you?

Everything is subject to change but ATM it seems that only EU + UK residents are concerned by the new regulation, out of Schengen space borders are closed or at least strictly checked.

Given your location, worth a call to your local authorities before you cross the pond, Roissy CdG is no fun place IMO. Dont forget the carrier is responsible for its passengers, the airlines company you use will supply good and updated info.
