Barry Sheene

It's hard to believe that it is two years since Barry passed away.

He gave more to motorsport in his part of the world than many people will ever know.

Thinking of you, Baz, and for all those who knew you and appreciated the legend that we had, the legend that we lost - a man irreplacable.

Very sadly missed.

Always doubly tragic when someone who survived so much on the track is claimed early by illness.

I miss Baz. It was so fun to see him in recent years at Goodwood revival and festival of speed and other such meetings, having a ball and playing to the crowd.

RIP Barry.

I remember the day I was attending a V8 meeting at winton , driving down a dirt track inside the circuit looking for a place to park , i noticed a moped behind me and of course it was barry riding back to the pits or the commentary box or something.

he was riding along waving to people trying to pop wheelies on the moped when the line in front of me stopped.

of course Barry didnt see this as he was busy "acting the clown" waving and carrying on with the folks in the crowd.

the look on his face was priceless as he realized everyone had stopped , still waving at the crowd his old bike days kicked in and how he never ran into the back of me I will never know but he up beside my window kackling away in an instant and yet still waving at people.

You legend bazza , you will be sorely missed

That's a story of an epitomy and talent lost. I wish more people would tell stories about Baz experiences. He deserves it as much as we do..... and it helps all of us remember the legend that the world lost.

Underneath this boyish charm was a helluva business talent too.

Daimlerman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
First saw Barry in action at Silverstone when I was marshalling at the MCC High Speed trials back in the early sixties. He stood out from the crowd even then.

Remember him at the Goodwood Revival rebuilding his own gearbox on the Norton. Not for him the stand back and let the mechanics do it. He got his hands dirty with his team. And he still found time to talk to the spectators and sign autographs!

Was privileged to see him win his last ever race at Goodwood.

Barry is irreplaceable and is sadly missed

He was a legend, I still can't believe he passed a way two years ago.
He's a great roll model.
