Nordic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Jaguar XJR-15

The rights to produce the XJR-15 have been sold by the receivers of TWR to JaguarSport ( a part of Hyper Engineering ). There are 2 models planned, one based on the original car the second is an evoloution model with superior aerodynamics. All running gear is taken from the XK8 so it can't be that original!.
Prices quoted in Octane Mag start at £80,000 which seems cheap.
It is also stated that the car is eligible for the britGT series.
Production is due to start in the summer of 2004.

I loved the 15. Although, by all accounts, it didn't handle to well (with both mechanical and wero issues?). The appeal for me was that it had the V12 in it (as opposed to the 220) and it looked great.

Interesting about the XK8, is the new 15 just a rebodied XK8? As opposed to being based on the XJR races (mainly 9)?

Audi R8R should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The 15 was a nightmare to drive, aparantly. It was okay in the hands of a racing driver (considering they were built for the one-make race series anyway) but for us mere mortals, wouldn't be parting with the thick end of 100 Grand for one.

The design hasn't aged very well I think. It looks pretty dated and "Nineties".

Who knows, with a Jag Trans-Am engine it could be a contender

Well, Jeremy Clarkson drove it and said it was the noisiest car he'd ever driven, as well as being the worst handling car he'd ever driven.
I think it's the ugliest Jaguar ever too FWIW

I really liked it at the time (although cyberdoft has a point about it being dated), but on the inside the V12 was an engine of beauty! (however at first I hated the 10 and 11 because of the Metro engine!)

Ugliest Jag? When I first read that I thought, hmm surely not, but thinking about it and sticking to main stream models: Clearly the XKs, C, D, E, XK8, the XJ saloons and MKs (in a differnt way) are all nicer. So maybe you are right. Actually I think it is better looking than the XJS.

Jag produced the XJ220
the XJR-15 was a product of JaguarSport, a joint-venture company owned by Jaguar and TWR,
anybody got any pictures of the five sold to Japan with 7-litre Group C engines, rooftop engine air intakes, and larger rear aerofoils
unusual for a Pete Stevens design to prove unpopular!

I dont have a pic of that but what i do have a pic of is Jaguar XJR-15 chassis number 50, the last one to be ever made...........until now. The car was built at a company called ASTEC who built a lot of the stuff for TWR, ASTEC being part of the TWR group. I have the pic because my dad worked there and he is in the photo so he had a copy! When Tom Walkinshaw's Formula 1 team went bust the company was sold to a small company called EPM technology which is owned by the very same guy, who at least 10 years earlier was a trainee Laminator at ASTEC. He's the guy at the back just above the roof and directly below the windowsil. But i'll let you in on a little secret if you don't already know, ASTEC actually made 51 XJR-15's, but the first one didn't count because Tom Walkinshaw had it
