What's your best source of inky Sportscar racing news and information? I subscribe to dsn but still like to read magazines at a more lesiurely pace (glass of claret and nog of Stilton at my side of course )

If you can speak French (or read it at least) Le Mans Racing is pretty good. http://www.lemans-racing.com
Failing that dare I say Autosport, or MotorSport (for more historical stuff). Sadly Le Mans and Sportscar Racer only lasted a couple of years. Anything Stateside? If nothing can be found seek out as many Le Mans Annuals as you can find and settle down by the fire with a bottle of claret. And a copy of "Time and Two Seats" by Janos Wimpffen. |

I saw that Time & Two Seats it looks biblical
I suppose it would be a good of learning French getting the Le Mans annuals and of course I could always just look at the pictures |

I yearn for a copy of "Times and Two Seats".......
As far as sportscars are concerned, I certainly don't rely on Autoschueysport.......... |

I'm afraid I'm addicted to AutoSunSport can't break the stranglehold (a bit like my constant returning to F1 despite how badly it has treated me )

I do know what you mean. I've had a subscription since about 1984 and still can't bring myself to end it, even though I get nearly all my info from the net these days (actually, I get most of my info from here )
I remember the days when the Le Mans results issue of Autosport ran to about 10 pages of stuff about Le Mans, with pocket histories of each car, lengthy reports of each class and so on. Heaven forbid, we even had a Jaguar on the coverback in 88 and 90. |

Autosport's Le Mans report have lost a lot since, let's say the late '80s, both in terms of quality and quantity. Add to this the annoying fact that over here, it's always a week late - , come on people, we're a common market, and there's a tunnel now, get a move on... And if I want the "latest insights into F1", I can get those in just about any other magazine. Even the porno mags will start running F1 reports before long. |

I agree about autosport, I can get all the info in the non F1 section by having a quick look in the newsgents.
I did find it somewhat ironic reading an piece by the sportscar reporter lamenting the decline of prototypes when his mag can barely be arsed to write 2 lines about them. |

I hardly ever buy Autosport now. As Nordic says I usually flick through it in the newsagent to see what I need. Also the Autosport website seems to be getting worse and worse. They are usually a day or so behind other websites with breaking news and have vitually nothing for fans of anything other than F1. Its a shame really because Autosport used to be a bible to the motor racing industry.

And why the heck do you need to "register" on Autosport's website these days for?

Yes, Autosport is indeed overated Andrex. There was a similar thread on CA recently with some interesting points:
http://www.clubarnage.com/yabbse/ind...y;threadid=834 and you know what, I haven't heard anyone disagree yet... H |

There was Le Mans and Sportcar or whatever it was called. I got a year's subscription free when it started (which was nice, as I never asked for it) and what there was of it looked (and read) pretty good to me.
