FIA Approved Harness for Rallycross

Hi

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but i need to know what the rule change is regarding the blue book and harneses as i have not recived the blue book yet and heard that all harnesses have to be FIA approved?

The one in my car is but it is dated 2005 should this still be used?

Cheers

www.rallycrossuk.com has the following on the rule change:

"All Rallycross competitors are reminded that MSA Yearbook regulation G 7.11.1 has changed for 2005 and that the use of FIA homologated seat belts with (at least) four fixing points is mandatory."

As for your belts, I'm not 100%, if they're FIA approved but have 2005 expiration then I guess you should be ok for this season? Might want to double check that with an MSA official though before you turn up at scrutineering.

You'll find the homologation number on a label sewn into the webbing. However unless yours is brand new it won't be 2005.

The FIA regs changed last year.

As anote to all competitors. It might also be wise to check the regs for racing overalls. In the UK for racing you can still use the old 1986 standard (only for this year). FIA requires 2004 standard.

Also helmets must be Snell 2002 or better now.

The expiry date doesn't mean much. The date you need is the construction date. However if it says its expired (or expiring) this year, buy a new belt anyway.

With anything like this it's best to ask the Championship eligibilty scrutineer. His details are on the contacts page of the BRDA website.
