2010 Spa 1000km camping

Hey fellas what are my options for camping at the Spa 1000km this year?

Bit of googling shows Franchorchamps racing hotel have a patch but I haven't called them to confirm yet.

LMS website is useless.

I'm worried lots of other places are F1 only.

Recommendations?

Thanks!

Near the entrance to the circuit at LeSource there's a car parking area on the right just prior to the gas station (across from hotel), we seen many times tents set up in that parking area on the hill. There has also been tents set up in a parking area just to the left of the hotel in a car park area. Very short walk into circuit from this area. There has also been camping just past Fagnes on the hill. Try contacting the circuit directly, this might prove to be of some assistance - http://www.spa-francorchamps.be/en07..._tourisme2.php. We always stay at the same hotel in Trois Points on the hill. You might try emailing the LMS folks, they have been very helpful to us.

Did you pre-book or just turn up?

Sounds like there's a few options there.

Don't worry about finding a place to set up a tent during the LMS 1000 of Spa. As said, the Francorchamps racing Hotel has pitches, but just across the street theres also a big area available for tents and campers.
During the 24hrs or F1,one can have trouble finding a place to camp but not during the LMS weekend. Just show up and pick yourselve a spot you like best.

In the past we've camped just off Route du Fagnou, on the entrance to the pit/paddock complex - check Google maps.

There's a toilet block nearby. Don't remember there being any requirement to pre-book and likewise don't recall having to pay either!

We'll be trying this area first this year.

Regards,
Nick.

Thanks blokes, just need to book a ferry then!

I'm going to do this instead of the 24hr I think. I prefer the quietness of the LMS races and hopefully they'll let me take in my bike and do a few laps of the spectator areas.

I still have a PARKING ticket, from among the trees above La Source. We parked in the middle of folks who had rigged canopies between trees, with vans and cars and tents etc all over. 10 Euro for the whole Spa 24 Weekend...

If you were referring to my post and where we stay in Trois Ponts - always pre-book well in advance because it gets sold out. Good luck with the camping.

Not specifically. I'm just going to go the slow way there and then rush back on Sunday night.

Ditto. I've been waiting for the 3rd body to confirm. Now P&O is broken!

P&O drove me mental today. 4 times I got to the Pay bit, and it fell over. I lost 2 sailing times that way...

Still, all booked now. Look out for the black W reg Golf Estate on the campsite. That'll be us...

8 kilometers away? That may be convenient in GP terms, but it's a long walk every morning and night...
We'll try the Hotel du Circuit, referred further up. Failing that, we'll rough it in the woods with the locals! 100 yards from the old Start/Finish line on the run down to Eau Rouge...
