It probably won't stop the virus but nobody would care.

Just wondering with the new clampdown on spectators at sport venues - eg Goodwood horse racing spectators being banned - how long we're going to get away with spectators (sorry, day visitors) beng allowed....eg for Festival Italia....

Having seen numerous articles about this subject in the last few days, I believe the events this weekend (snooker, cricket, horses) were pilots - limited numbers / facilities etc. I am sure that the events as and when they happen will be reviewed carefully just as MSV, BARC, etc will have been looking carefully at how the first MSV events went a few weekends back.
The dynamics of watching those pilot events are a little different to the wide open spaces of Thruxton or even Brands - and typically attract spectators in a more contracted area.

Managed to have a look back through the Motorsport Archives and discovered that the VSCC held meetings at Thruxton from it's opening season in 1968 through to 1972 and once again for a final time in 1974.
I remember going to one of the Brooklands Trophy meetings in 1983. It featured an eclectic mix of races including a VSCC Handicap, a round of the Atlantic Computers Historic GT series and a round of the Marlboro British Formula Three championship. The Atlantic Computers race had a huge grid headed by John Foulston (McLaren M8F) and Mike Wheatley (BRM P154) while the Formula Three round saw the latest instalment of the season long Senna/Brundle battle.

The weather is looking decidedly dodgy for the weekend, if Sunday's forecast is accurate there'll be plenty of action on track particularly at Church!

New camera rain cover may make its debut. Hoping for more three wheeled antics from Peter ...
