How about the mercedes hey, no where at bathurst, suddenly a race winner, Had a discussion with an old poster on speedcafe, he didnt think the merc could do it
teams and drivers now the rules before they arrive in Adelaide. everyone knows a pro with an AM isn't going to win a race in Adelaide. track is too tight and you can lose seconds trying to pass slower cars, and races are too short to get an advantage. a fast AM can win races and the round, as was demonstrated again this year, like last year. had I of entered with Dave Russell, I wouldn't of finished on the podium. not because of his pace, but because of the extended pit stop time added.

correct.

they get their chance at the GP.

4 races.

2 car teams, highest seeded driver in Q1, R1 and R3. other driver in Q2, R2 and R4.

no pit stop penalties, just balls out racing.

only single driver won't work as some need added $$$ or set up assistance.

2 driver won't work as some enjoy driving alone, considering the budget spent.

The ones who pay the bills for the cars to be on the grid. Most of the competitors in the field are gentleman drivers

The "factory supported teams" at Clipsal amounted to what, 1 Audi, 1 Mclaren, 1 Porsche and 1 BMW... and one might assume the Porsche was only on the grid thanks to Liam Talbot's funding...

4 cars in a grid of 27, the rest of the cars are primarily funded by the wealthy drivers who employ a "pro" to co-drive if they wish

If you don't cede to the gentleman drivers wishes, then there is no AGT, full stop.
all comments are spot on.

Wow, bloody hard to argue with someone who knows what actually goes on, spends large sums of his own money to do so and competes quite successfully considering its basically a hobby.

Well said scudd
