Reido Rules should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Plato starts well

Despite a cracked rib and various other cuts and bruises, Jason Plato has qualified 3rd at rockingham in his debut in the ASCAR mintex cup. Plato qualified well within the current ASCAR lap record and was close to grabbing pole. Pole went to BAR test driver Darren Manning, and second was former CART driver Nicolas Minassian. All three beating current champ John Mikkel who was 4th.

As for former BTCC star Kelvin Burt, he was 9th after promising much more in practice and HTML's effort got off to a shaky start, as they qualified low down the order with Darren Turner.

So theres all the news on the BTCC transferees.

darren manning's done ridiculously well!
ok, so jason's got a few scratches and bruises, but talk about leaving your mark, apparently darren's lap was the first above and average of 150mph....

Sorry, I know this is the BTCC forum, but why has Jason got a cracked rib, cuts and bruises? Has he crashed?

Sarah W should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
When he was at Rookie Training a few weeks ago John Mickel was driving him round the oval in the 2 seater car and they had a shunt although they weren't going at high speed. He cracked 2 ribs and a vertebrae.

Does anyone know how John Steward did? I'm assuming he was running in Ascar!

I remember Stevie Hodgson from Eurocars! He was awesome! He can go through traffic like the proverbial hot knife etc.. he disappeared to America after winning the Eurocar championship years ago. Glad to see him back.

Jason finished 6th in the first race and then 8th in the second, would have been higher in the 2nd round but was called in due to a fluid leak. Got to speak to him and he said he enjoyed every minute of it. My first time at an ASCAR meeting and I thought it was awesome, roll on next round at Rockingham on June 8/9th.
