Back to Bruni: It's not the first time that a Coloni F3000/GP2 driver quits the team in the verge of a race. Soheil Ayari did something similar at year 2000, I think in the process of Hockenheim Intl F3000 race. Ayari, after that, finished that season covering places at two teams: on Durango in the F3000 Italia and on WRT in the International F3000.

Should make for a interesting race 2, Carroll starting 3rd. Who knows, perhaps he can pull off a win. He would surely have managed to win race 2 at Turkey IMO had he not had to start from the back of the grid.

i reckon race 2 is either pantanos or carrolls. from what i hear, pantano was very very quick and might have been on the podium had he not striaghtlined one of the chicanes. carroll was also very very quick. obviously adam benefitted with cars going off but he drove a fantastic race and was lapping as fast as anyone both adam reckons he still could have been on the podium but for a bad pitstop. i actually think super nova are a match for art and arden this weekend. both super nova drivers were extremely fast so provided they get off to a good start and manage to get past monfardini early in the race i think they could run away with it and maybe give super nova a 1-2 finish.

Whoops my mistake, Carroll will be starting from 4th on tommorows grid, not 3rd. I thought he was listed as 5th, apparntly not - he finished 4th. Good result from the back of the grid. Got to agree with Flexible flyer about the race tommorow, cant see anyone other than Carroll or Pantano taking the win really, unless of course Kovalinen or Rosberg get lightning starts and make up a few places into the first chicane.

Wouldnt 4th in race 1 put you 5th on race 2 grid?

He finished 4th? Have the results been amended?

jani won the race. rosberg, driving a space rocket managed 2nd. pantano 3rd. i grossly underestimated both jani and monfardini!

carroll looked like he had a problem from about the halfway point and dropped way back despite getting 6th. lapierre had a mysterious crash at the parabolica.

confirmed- rosberg hit him up the arse and bent his exaust closed. no wonder he was so slow from then on. i though both lapierre and rosberg had JUST missed him. in lapierres case that was right but rosberg was obviously forgetting to use his brakes....

Speed loses points for fastest lap (tyre change) Therefore points go to Rosberg.
Makes gap closer to Kovalainen ,4 points goint to Spa

Has it all gone quiet on the Gimmi to Durango front then, if he can`t get a seat sorted for the rest of this season i would like to think he would find something for next year, he has slaughtered Lauda afterall, ok that shouldn`t be that tricky but you can have got to beat your team mate and he was doing that comfortably enough i thought, really hope we see him back in GP2 next year.

Coloni issued a statement about the Bruni to Durango story this afternoon - I didn't fully understand it, because it was all in Italian, but I think it said that there was a rule meaning a driver could only drive for one team in GP2 in a season.
