Portfolios...
My birthday is coming up soon and for a present my girlfriend wants to buy me a portfolio.
We have in mind a big black A5 book with A4 prints... what is the best way to do this? What should I look for in a book? Where should I look for a book? Cheers. |

i'm guessing you either mean an A4 book with A5 prints, or A3 book with A4 prints (which sounds more like it)
I guess you want something where you can easily remove and replace pictures as you evolve the portfolio? |

Yeah, A3 for A4.
Have you seen something that will do the job? |

sorry haven't got anything in mind - just wanted to help clarify what you were after.
If you ever want a One-off portfolio then the Photobox photobooks are excellent, but of course you can't update them. I'm definitely interested to see what you can find as i'm currently using a four ring binder with poly pockets - not the most professional of things... |

A few weeks ago I bought a copy of a magazine called "Computer Arts Projects" the entire issue was devoted to various styles of portfolio, both printed and electronic. It may be worth trying to obtain a back copy of it.
Hope this may be of help Dave |

If you're just sending the portfolios out and don't need to keep them, then you can get decent enough folders from WH Smiths (and other good stationers) with plastic wallets in.

I normally go for the plastic cheap thing from a stationary store.
But I think pplater is after something a bit more finished. |

Why don't you use the web for a portfolio?
Everyone has internet these days.... Saves a lot of work and expense too... Frank Motorphotography Australia |

If you want a portfolio case, large leather, or a smaller version with plastic insets..your local artists supplies shop...
Size and quality of print will dictate the size of the case,, http://www.art2go-uk.com/products/portfolios.html If you are sending samples out, a cd will suffice with PDF images. If your girl friend wants to pay for the images to be printed... again local art college.. for the best deals. give them a buzz and ask for Head of Department... |
