Only one confirmed for TCR UK so far, two for this.

If we're playing them off against each other, its best to compare apples with apples.

If you're counting Lewis Kent as the confirmed one for TCR UK, then don't, as he isn't yet.

I've seen nothing other than Lewis Kent suggesting he will do tcr uk alongside another series.
Here we have a press release with 4 drivers!

Seeing as both series are able to run the same cars and are both pitched as cheaper touring car racing than BTCC, yes this is apples with apples

I think it's likely that Lines will run his Leon in it, maybe not necessarily with him beind the wheel. Carl Swift too. Darelle a Wilson may find running their Astra in TCT more appealing than TCRUK seeing as he's good mates with Stewart. That's potentially 3more TCT cars on the grid, never mind anything from the Moffats or Team HARD, Simon Belcher etc.

It's a bit of a long bow to play off a TCR series against a series that includes TCR, among others.

Rob Austin/HMS/Audi A4 NGTC
TBA/HMS/Toyota Avensis NGTC
Jamie Sturges/Zest Racecar Engineering/Seat Supacopa TCR
Tim Docker/Maximum Motorsport/VW Golf TCR
Henry Neal/Dynamics Honda Civic NGTC

not sure im with you on that one, based on where we are today, if you have a TCR machine you want to race and are UK based, you have 2 choices (assuming you dont want to go abroad)

One costs significantly less and you can pitch your car against all manner of competitors in various touring car forms including teams and possibly drivers with BTCC experience

One costs a lot more and you can race Lewis Kent :-/

I just feel TCR doesnt really fit in the UK when it already had a national series which was too strong, this is at least a good series for using old BTCC cars and letting people with TCR cars use them in a series which will lets face is be cheaper to enter. Lets just see what the grid sizes are like come the first race in each series

"In addition to its test schedule with Rob Austin and the Alfa Romeo this year, HMS Racing will also compete in the inaugural Touring Car Trophy. In addition to fielding the ex-Austin ‘Sherman’ Audi A4 for British driver Alex Day, the team is also planning to run its BTCC race-winning Toyota Avensis."

My mistake I'll hold my hands up to misreading that one. But still a bigger grid than TCRUK with two cars out of the Handy workshops! Moffats, Lines etc still to come possibly.

theres a huge difference between "planning to run" and actually confirming an entry. im "plannning" to be a multi-millionaire one day but unfortuantely that doesnt mean i will be

there is only one entry confirmed from hms (alex day).

| Press Release |

GS Battery Racing is delighted to unveil the Honda Civic FK2 Type R that Henry Neal will race in the Dunlop Touring Car Trophy (TCT) for 2019. In a dramatic change of skin, the ex-Halfords Yuasa Racing British Touring Car Championship Car, now features an eye-catching black and blue livery.

This season is the second that GS Battery have supported Henry Neal. Last year saw the 23-year-old, who is the son of three times BTCC champion Matt Neal, compete in the Mini Challenge UK JCW series for his third year – honing his skills in a series that has become reputed for feeding the BTCC.

The GS automotive battery range has been designed to meet the demanding needs of the ever-evolving modern car parc. The range has exceptional parc coverage with three tiers, GS SMF conventional, EFB and AGM Start-Stop, each providing superior performance and excellent value. Asia’s leading battery brand.

Henry Neal - ‘It looked great in its old livery, but in my opinion, this blows it out the water! I’m absolutely thrilled to be back racing with the support of GS Battery for our second year, looking to build on the great progress we made in the MINI Challenge. To be driving a Type R is extra special given the success we’ve had in the BTCC with it – I’m hoping I can keep the trend going in the TCT!’

Jonathan Pritchard – General Manage Sales and Marketing at GS Yuasa Battery Sales UK Ltd - “We are excited to be entering our second year backing Henry Neal with our GS Battery brand. The new car looks fantastic in its black and blue colour scheme and will really stand out on the track. We can’t wait to see what Henry will achieve during 2019 and we are confident he will be able to continue the success the racing car had when it used to compete in the BTCC.”

Car: 2017 Honda Civic FK2 Type R
Engine: Honda K20A Turbo
Power (bhp): 350+
Torque (Nm): 400
Gearbox: XTrac Six-speed sequential
Brakes: AP Racing 6-pot Front Calipers
AP Racing 4-pot Rear Calipers
Electronics: Cosworth

TCT Round 1 kicks off at Donington Park Circuit on the 13th April, all rounds will have access to live streaming.

You could probably add Aiden Moffat in the NGTC Infiniti to that list.

Twice the TCR UK grid! But yes, doesn't look like it'll be making double digits at this rate.

Also possible 2nd Infiniti, HMS Avensis, etc.
