i just got done watching the re-air of the motogp race at south afirca and at the end they said there was a possiblity of another rcv at jerez being polited by ioth. is there any really chance of this happening?
i really hope so is because i want to see itoh in motion the rcv looks very very nice in red and black wing |

Well, it's good to see new (or old!) faces on the grid, but would it just mean another Honda up front?
Perhaps this just shows how confident Honda are. |

No, they shouldn't. It would be too embarressing for all of them to be beaten by a guy with only one good leg!

Itoh and Ryo?
Your kidding surely ain't you? Two Japanese guys that excel at one track only during the season. Funny the track is in Japan! Common guys get real. |

Sinichi Itoh has previously ridden in the World Motorcycle Championship in the early 90s. He wasn't a world beater but he didn't do that bad a job, but lost it when Okada came along.

It might be ugly, but it's fast, and that is what counts....
IMO the riders look bloody big and lanky now on these new bikes. Particularly Ukawa. |

My memory isn't that good!
However, I do know that Itoh did have some success, but Abe was the first Japanese rider to have real success in my opinion. |

Itoh was an also ran in the early ninetees. Why would he suddenly improve with age?

Itoh is the Honda development rider and has been since joining the factoty team in '93. Okada tried to do the same but got fed up and went to WSB. Itoh has won the 8h many times and the Jap WSB title, also did a lot of work with Kanemoto and Bridgestone last year, intersting that Honda wanted him back rather than letting him ride an NSR in GP.
HRC will be using him to test new stuff on the bike as Rossi and Ukawa have a championship to go for. The Japs are guinea pigs, nothing more |

Bloody fast guinea pigs if you ask me.
Japan would have to be one of the best countries for producing talent re; Nakano, Katoh, Haga et. al. Nakano was Motogp 2001 Rookie of the year, 250cc 1999 3 or 4 in championship and 2nd 2000 by only 0.0012 sec. Katoh (record breaking nmber of wins in a season, 3rd in 2000 (250cc) his first full year in gp's, won gp's as wildcard Haga 2000 2nd in SKB, he also scored a podium in Suzuka as a wildcard in 1998 (or was it 1999?) Harada is worth a mention too! I put that aprilia twin on pole at Megello, Italy (1999?), a feat of uncompareable talent, ..err well Eddie Lawson got that Cagiva on pole (1991) (and a win) once too you gotta give it up for Matisudo too, riding non-factory yamaha 250's (thats gotta be hard), Azuma who won like 6 gp's in 1999 (125cc) and everyones fav. Noby Udea (won in the wet of Megello, Italy 2001. yeah well that said I'm not a fav of Ukawa, although it was super funny seeing him beat Rossi and he did ride a better race. i can't wait to see Rossi get beaten again. |
