It's easy to see what happened and why. 3 cars had never ever been an option.
That might be how it appears based on the forum rumors etc but I suspect in reality it isn't the case.

There certainly was an intention to run 3 cars. Why else have a rant about other teams blocking it?

There was entries for sale - Amd Speedworks for one . Dynamics chose not to pay the going rate , no ones fault except theirs

If Cammish does well and BTC can't find the funding to run the car after the first round, could BTC sell the TBL to Dynamics and Cammish ends up back to TD.

'Teams may sell, gift, lease, assign or loan their TBL to other existing teams or eligible new entries on a season-long basis only, subject to the approval of TOCA as to the integrity of both recipient and transaction.'

So yea, I'd say that TBL's can't be transferred, sold, leased etc during the season. If BTC can't fill the seat they'll lose the licence. They'll be able to have another driver at Snetterton though.

Crees pulled out for commercial reasons that aren't connected to lack of budget so that raises the question of what is going on at BTC and would the same "issue" put off other drivers? Presumably Cammish is getting this drive for free at the very least given the amount BTC are going to learn and the short notice to get anyone else in there?

I'd love to see this happen but it's extremely unlikely.
Putting aside all things connected to TBLs, financing, budget, etc, there's another main obstacle - Dan has a deal in place to race Porsches this year. I doubt he can withdraw from this.

Logistically perhaps but there's a big difference between commentating and driving. There's no way Cammish could give his best performance in both cars seeing as how radically different they are to each other.

Exactly. It's tough for drivers to have double programmes (like DTM with Formula E for example) but having a double programme which means racing in two series during one weekend is completely impossible. Cammish would contest 6 races over one weekend, seems rather crazy for me.

Just to query this -
Dan had a deal in place to race BTCC (with Team Dynamics), and is now in Porsches. What's to stop the reverse happening?

A number of drivers have commented on how - during 2020 - they had a lot more time during the day with no sponsor commitments at the venue. With the corporate side of BTCC likely to return from Snetterton onward - a BTCC driver has commitments to sponsors that prevent them from having the time to race in another series on the same day.

You can't be hosting your sponsors for BTCC at the same time as driving your Porsche.

I believe the circumstances are a lot different. In case of him losing his Dynamics seat it was all about sponsors gone, TBL stuff etc. So we can assume the circumstances changed very much and there had to be some kind of clause for this.
Other way round would be more like 'I've got a deal in place but now I have a better option, I'm leaving.' Often it just doesn't work that way. But of course we can only shoot in the dark as we don't know any details of his Porsche deal and his previous deal with Dynamics.

Have there been any technical or BOP "recalculations" that normally are only made public through the lips of Tim Harvey during commentary, but yet seem to be common knowledge amongst some people regarding the cars?
