Yoong Montoya should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ruben Xaus

How good would you say he is? I would say he's fast enough to win races on the right bike, but hasn't got it together yet. I hope he does this year because I don't want Hodgson to walk the 2003 WSB championship.

The guy appears to have some talent and is a genuine race-winner, but I don't think he can do much to stop Hodgson dominating the championship.

height - 183 cm
weight - 76 kg

He is like the motorsport equvilent to those real short Basketball players, talented but could be so much more without being the shape they are.

Like alot of young guys, bloody fast but inconsistent. If he keeps it on the road, he is a championship chance, especially if he goes like the last 6 races of 2001.

I think he's wasting the 2003-spec Ducati. He almost single-handedly cost Bayliss the championship last year, was behind Hogson who had the previous year's bike, and is now losing out to Chili who has a 2001 model!

His form has been to patchy and he hasn't weeded out the rookie mistakes, even now. Ducati should've thrown him out and brought in Chili or Toseland.

How did he do that? By not being fast enough in Imola to help Bayliss?

I think he is alluding to Assen where he was being a bit odd. Dangerous passing when under team orders.

Also when he ran Bayliss into the barriers on the first lap out of the pits during a practice session at Brands Hatch last year, breaking Bayliss' ribs.

Last year I would have given anything for Hodgson to win races. But for his sake at least, I hope he doesn't dominate the championship. As nice as it is to win loads of races, the championship will be far more deserved if he wins with a fight.

Saying that, Bayliss won the first six rounds easily and still had to fight for the title.

Indeed, he did lose it and after last seasons spectacular finale, I don't think we'll see anything so good for a few years!

Well, race 2 at Philip Island wasn't too far away from that was it? Hodgson won, but Xaus almost beat him. You never know, Xaus could get it together and beat Hodgson in the same way Edwards beat Bayliss last year. Don't write this year off yet.
