Antrodemus should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2014 V8Supercar Fantasy Championship

A new year in fictional auto racing begins in just under a month in Adelaide, where the Pete55 Memorial Trophy will again go on the line as the ultimate prize in the 2014 V8Supercar Fantasy Championship.

V8 Despot Antrodemus took time out from courting new manufacturers to share his enthusiasm for the series in 2014, and is confident of another great year.
“After such a diverse 2013, we get 2014 away to a wonderful start with three races in Adelaide, and this year will again present a whole heap of new challenges for teams and drivers alike,” he said. “I’m sure it will be an unbelievably exciting year; lots of changes (and Volvos!) so I look forward to it all rolling out at the end of February.”

Now entering its twelfth year on Network Ten-Tenths, this series can always guarantee close racing, dodgy officiating, and heated rivalries. The 2014 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship Series is upon us! Gentlemen (and Gentlewomen),
Start Your Engines!

1. Drivers

You can hire up to 3 drivers to drive your cars, provided that their combined salary comes in below the $2,000,000 Salary Cap.
Here is how much they cost:

$1,500,000
Jamie Whincup
$1,400,000
Craig Lowndes
$1,300,000
Mark Winterbottom
$1,200,000
Fabian Coulthard
Shane van Gisbergen
$1,100,000
Jason Bright
Garth Tander
$1,000,000
James Courtney
Chaz Mostert
David Reynolds
$900,000
Will Davison
Scott McLaughlin
$800,000
Lee Holdsworth
Rick Kelly
Tim Slade
$700,000
James Moffat
Nick Percat
Jack Perkins
$600,000
Michael Caruso
Robert Dahlgren
Scott Pye
$500,000
Tony d’Alberto
Russell Ingall
Todd Kelly
David Wall
Dale Wood

Other Drivers
If anyone else not listed above drives in one of the non-enduro rounds, they will be valued at $400,000.

Endurance Drivers
Specialist drivers will be available for Phillip Island, Bathurst and Surfers Paradise. More info below.

2. Hiring & Firing

As Team Owner/Manager, you are permitted to sack any or all of your drivers in the lead-up to a round, and replace them - so long as you don’t blow the salary cap or 3-driver limit.

To sack/hire someone, post here expressing your disappointment in your ex-employee(s), and your hopes for your new driver(s). You will only be charged a driver change if your team is different at the next round, so there is scope to change your mind if need be. The deadline for making changes is the start of first practise.

**New for 2014!**
Driver changes will now cost you championship points, as per below:
First change = free
Second change = 50 points
Third change = 100 points
Fourth change = 150 points
etcetera, increasing by 50 points for each subsequent change.

Enduro Cup
If you wish, you may use one of your driver changes to hire some of the Sunday drivers that appear during the Enduro Cup (Phillip Island, Bathurst, and Surfers Paradise). Your driver lineup, including enduro specialists, must still fit inside the $2M salary cap, but you will be allowed an extra pilot, so you can have a maximum of 4 drivers at these three rounds. You will automatically revert to your normal driver lineup after Surfers, should you choose this option. Note that you do not have to pair up your drivers.

The price list for enduro drivers will be released once we know who they are. As an added incentive, the once-a-year brigade also come with generously discounted price tags

3. Points:

Points are the same as the real series. Whatever a driver scores at each round in real life is what that driver will receive here, including penalties. Your worst round will not be dropped. You will not receive $200 for passing 'Go'.
If you notice that your team hasn't scored as many points as you think they should have (or more than they should have ), there are a couple of likely reasons for this:
1) My maths stinks;
2) I missed your driver change;
3) I've only just realised one of your drivers got penalised somewhere along the line.
Either way, let me know and I'll fix your score so its 100% correct.

4. Other Things You Should Know As Team Owner:

- One team per person, per year.
- You don’t have to use all $2 million, but DO NOT GO OVER BUDGET!!! You will be suitably punished (ie. disqualified from the round) if I discover any creative bookkeeping.
- A driver can be chosen by more than one team - these guys are consummate professionals and are able to drive eleventy-one cars simultaneously.
- Points are the same as the real series. If things don't seem to add up, feel free to point out my mathematical ineptitude.
- Round results and championship standings will be posted here following the conclusion of each round.
- After the results have been posted, you can report on your team’s performance (or lack thereof). Show us how good you are at distributing propaganda.

5. Team Announcements:

Once you’ve picked your driving line-up, give your team a name, announce some sponsors, racing numbers, liveries, grid girls/guys, mascots, overseas technical partners and any other stuff you can think of, and of course your manufacturer of choice, then post here giving a detailed description of the copious quantities of hide your team will kick in the forthcoming season.

To make it easy for me, could you please condense the propaganda into this sort of form following your press release:

Quote:
NAME: Swedish Valiant Racing with Garry Rogers
SPONSORS: Ikea
DRIVERS:
#33 Scott McLaughlin
#34 Robert Dahlgren
#35 Dale Wood
MANUFACTURER: Volvo

Entries are open as of now, so start issuing those press releases! There are a few changes this year, so make sure you've got them noted down
Your team can be altered without penalty until first practise at Adelaide.
Comments/suggestions/queries are more than welcome, either here or via PM.

May the Fords be with you (or against you as the case may be),

!!! PRESS RELEASE !!!

Brendon Engineering back to re-claim crown

Brendon Engineering is pleased to announce it's return to the 10 Tenths V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship for 2014. After unsuccessfully defending their crown in 2013 the team is hungrier then every to come out strong in 2014 in a bid to re-clain the Pete55 Memorial Trophey with 3 brand new VF Holden Commodores.

Spearheading the Teams assault in 2014 is Tim Slade, Russell Ingall & Nick Percat. "Sladey is a top flight driver, he might not of been able to show it last year in the Merc but we believe we cn supply him the equipment for him to get back into the top 5 like he did in 2012. "Old Mate Enforcer, he might be an old fart but we believe he still has alot of skill to bring solid points for us, as for Nick he is very fast and has matured doing the support classes and enduro's the last couple years in our team he can deffinatly make the transition to be a top flight driver." said Team Owner/Manager Brendon.

Brendon Engineering has also been wheeling and dealing with some heavy hitters behind the scenes after recruiting Ludo Lucroix as Cheif Designer/Builder & Mark Dutton as head of Engineering from Triple 8. "we seen the way Roland chucked his toys after Adrian signed with Walkinshaw, i look forward to his rant about us having to steal blokes and how those guys (that left) are mercenaries." laughed Brendon.

The team and it's new signings will have their first hitout in the new Commodores at the Sydney Motorsport Park next Saturday (Feb 15).

Brendon Engineering 2014 Driver Line-up:
#23 - Russell Ingall - Holden Commodore VF - $500,000
#47 - Tim Slade - Holden Commodore VF - $800,000
#222 - Nick Percat - Holden Commodore VF - $700,000
TOTAL -$2,000,000.

Greased Up Deaf Guy Racing returns for 2014 with a completely new driver lineup, focusing on not employing the same drivers as every other wood duck!

Driving two SLR-5000 Toranas are:
  • Shane van Gisbergen - $1,200,000
  • Tim Slade - $800,000

When prompted by the media, GUDGR owner F J Nedos simply commented:

HAPPY DRAGON TEAMMVMOTORSPORT RETURNS FOR 2014

Happy Dragon TeamMVMotorsport returns for their 11th year in the V8SCFC.

Team principal Mercurial Matty V is hoping that being a year ending in '4' will see the team perform in a manner which will see them competing for the Pete55 trophy in Sydney in December.

Matty V announces the following drivers have signed on for 2014:

#3 Tim Slade ($800k)
#34 Jack Perkins ($700k)
#43 Todd Kelly ($500k)

The usual sponsors have lined up to support the team in their 11th year; St. George Bank, Jeep, Momentum Energy, Alfa, AVS Security and McGuigans Wines. A new apparel sponsor in ISC has been signed to a multi year deal.

Due to the teams lack of creativity / apathy the livery will have to be imagined by punters unless someone has more time, creativity, design nous and/or commitment than the team itself. Just imagine a pearl white car with a red V, numbers on the doors (because that's where they belong) and the aforementioned sponsor logos.

Happy Dragon TeamMVMotorsport will be driving COtF's, with Holden headlights, unless someone else's headlights are faster.

Happy Dragon TeamMVMotorsport wishes all other competitors well for 2014, and expresses gratitude to Antro, the V8SCFC black wiggle, for his commitment to what is one of Mercurial Matty V's highlights in any V8 Supercar season.

-----
Post Script:

Happy Dragon TeamMVMotorsport have competed in 11 of the 12 V8SCFC's run. The team has a career best finish of fourth, achieved in 2004. The team missed the 2005 season. The team has an average finishing position of 27.5, something it is keen to rectify.
