I see Fog has been reinstated as the winner of race 2. Really happy with the outcome as there couldn't be a more deserving winner IMHO.

That's great news, commonsense has finally prevailed. Foggy drove brilliantly and showed everybody else a clean pair of heels in the process.

Apart from that they are both aimed at the same competitor,
no wonder they had low entries.

Part of the problem with motorsport in NZ,
too many events for the competitors to choose from,
and event organisers trying to take competitors and spectators from each other.

Woohoo! Mind you, you have to wonder about either the rules for safety car restarts or the fact that so many drivers at that level broke them!

Ray, this was not a restart issue, but the race start itself, basically Ant missed the start and got swamped before he crossed the start /finish line. The onus was on Ant to accelerate when the race was green-lighted, but when he missed the green light the rest of the front bunch accelerated and they were penalized 10 seconds for this transgression, which was later overturned.

Thanks Mark. It wasn't too clear from the TV, but it does raise issues regarding restart procedures. With a 34 lap race I'm surprised that that the stewards hadn't communicated the penalties earlier. Maybe they did via radio and it wasn't communicated to the TV team or the public?

Normally, as most on here will know, any form of jumped start has the time penalty board displayed at the start finish line within minutes, along with the car number(s), though with so many car numbers to display, I suppose that it would have been rather difficult.

Socram, the call from Race Radio regarding the Start Penalties did not happen until Lap 17 of 18... we had no time to clarify the details before the Race finished... not only was it confusing for us but also the Teams and Drivers... Race Control should have made the call a hell of a lot earlier.

Evans team changing wets on the grid as they put them on the wrong way.

Whats the point in maki9ng a stratigey when after all the pre race show is over they call it wet.

Interesting - very fine and sunny all day at my place yesterday, I didn't realise it had even looked like raining anywhere else - I suppose Auckland is a big place.

Did they get many through the gate?

If the starter had of followed protocol this wouldnt of happened. He let the lights go out 100m earlier than race 1, the guys had barely come over the hill. Ant did miss the start but why let them go 300m from the line when you can pass or fan out until the start finish line. Makes no sense, the race should have been red flagged. Without radios I reckon these guys would of only just seen the lights. All you are doing is asking for trouble and they got it but glad to say no one or their cars got hurt.

You should know Goat Boy that Pukekohe's climate doesn't seem to be related to anywhere else! We only had a three minute light shower, not even enough to wet the road, until later in the evening when we had another brief shower.

Apart from that a very entertaining day if you are a ST fan. Fantastic race 1 and thrilling R3. Fair to say not many people there, possibly 3-4000 spectators but listening to them cheer when ant and murph went side by side over the hill was special. Seemed a lot of corporates around in pit area and for rides. An enjoyable relaxing day with 3 compact main game races.

An explanation as to the penalties on the TV3/CRC thread. Pederson was also penalised for not accelerating, so in effect, the top positions stayed the same anyway but the other penalties remained. That makes sense.

We're getting closer and closer to the next round at Pukekohe. Nothing has been said about David John and TKR entering. There were rumors floating around at the last round, but nothing has yet come to fruition. As Mark and many others have said, apparently a deposit has been made. I wonder if anything will come of this...

20b, two things I do know.

Ceprnich's car is still sitting in my workshop.

Wayne Jacko Anderson's car is no longer available for sale and or lease, and will definitely back in the Series sooner or later but not in TKR livery.

Perhaps it will be published in the Driven section this weekend.

In regards to Booth, 'business ventures' is the media spiel at the moment, but I'd say he's got no money.

I see on Facebook that Scott Mclaughlin is driving a Supertourer tomorrow (anyone know which it is?) any chance he makes a return for the enduro portion? Or he's done?
