What's the story with TV coverage from this? Will it be on TV3, or does Sky get it due to the weirdness that is being a support category to a series on a different broadcast network?

pukekohe v8sc

The sky guide is 3 hrs-friday, 6hrs-saturday and 4 hrs-sunday.
I would expect no supertourers livestream and probably a delayed condensed Sunday or following sunday screening of the STs on 3.

Other options find a Porsche Panamera ST for Hartley and Bamber for the enduros to see who is the quickest of the Kiwi young guns in an ST.

http://youtu.be/1C9THUfXbDA (Porsche Panamera race car)

Given Chrysler's history in NZ (Avengers, Chargers etc) a 300C ST would look good but is the aero drag co-efficient suspect on those?

The sound of the Volvo V8SC engine is probably it's best feature so a tlx volvo for the summer series or there seems to be more historic meetings in NZ (than modern car meetings)now so 240t or a ex-Rydell BTCC volvo would be the go

What are the ST 'body' silhouette rules? Are only cars originally fitted with a vee eight engine sold in nz eligible or is it if there is a vee eight car within the brand or something else - discretion of series etc?
http://www.digitaltrends.com/cars/20...oit-auto-show/
The Chrysler 200 has a drag coefficient of 0.27 (Tesla is 0.24) and the Dodge version is called an Avenger. More slippery than a 300.
Certainly be a bit more serious than the Fiat 500s in the Bathurst 12 hour.

Yeah saw that. Bit disappointing we only get 1hr highlights but I guess the Supertourers are playing with the big boys and have to play by their rules. However, does anybody know if the races will be streaming live anywhere or of any other way to watch?

MSNZ premnier class? it's no secret TRS is the top MSNZ class. not sure when ST earned the title "premier support category"? then again.. ST mysteriously added a part 4 to The Herald's 3 part feature on the V8 ****ing match lol

if anything.. 30 plus Central Muscle Cars will be the support category to steal the show

If TRS is NZ's top MSNZ class, remind us all how may NZ competitors compete in this class.

If NZ competitors is what you need to be the top class then
2K cup beats NZV8 and ST's doesn't it?

I dont think there is 'a' top class.

If it was competitor numbers or NZ driver numbers then it would be 2K Cup or one of the classic series, or even BMW E30, if it was speed it would be F5000, if it was glamour then the grid girls would have it every time

2K cup would have more competitors in their class.. than a lot of meetings have with all classes combined. might be a lesson to be learnt there.

Isn't it simply that there are plenty of willing competitors with next to no money running in a cheap-as-chips class, compared to a handful of very privileged people with access to however much money they want?

I'm curious, what's the lesson PM?

living beyond our means isn't working and the lack of variety doesn't help either.

surely you do not want our 'top' class to be a class of 'cheap-as-chips' cars

this to represent our sport which is supposed to be high technology, high performance, sexy, up-to-date, at the forefront of design and technical advancements

2KCup really does not do it

mind you neither does NZV8TC or V8ST both of whom use old style engines

interesting to read that FIA looking to create a regional feeder class for WTCC - now that is the way of the future

TRS with their new car next season ticks all the boxes for "top" class for single seaters - would be nice if more Kiwis compete but suggest that not much different when we had Tasman Series some number of years ago.

yet we have plenty of endurance cars, GT type, F5000, Muscle Cars.. racing rather than sitting in sheds. not sure what you guys pay for chips? but those cars wouldn't exactly fall into the cheap category? those classes mentioned are a lot healthier than our V8 classes or one make classes.. and that's without all the media and fanfare. why is that?

Less interference from above maybe? Also the ability to spend as much or little as you want as parity is never an issue.

I'll assume you're replying to me as you've quoted my reference to "cheap-as-chips". How on earth did you come up with that thought after reading my post?

To be clear, that is certainly not what I would want to see.
