I too will be a Sillystone, but as I live about 7 miles away it will be rude not to.

Pop into Buckingham for a beer at the Whale Hotel in the middle of town (it's my local). If you are camping and coming from the South there is a Tesco, for your beer shopping. Also there a few good places to munch - but I would not recomend the kebab van out side Woolies

You all have fun and lets pray for good wether

Guys, how far is the circuit in relation to the Cherwell Valley Moto Service on the nearby M40?

I'll be up there from thursday night I think...marshalling all three days and I'm looking forward to it a lot!

Looking at the ads that have been about it seems as though there is going to be bars and entertainment going on in the evening...think thats where we should meet up if were going to!?

well having jus tseent he price of the tickets, I think i'll be getting an all weekend one, slight problem being accomodation.
Three options:
1) hotel, could just about do it, but i'm a little strapped for cash...
2) commute in daily, but thats gonna cost a lot, so screw that idea.
3) camp... but no tent.... however I do have a rather large estate car that I can fit in the back of

Unless anyone else has some ideas, I guess that'll have to be th option.

Still cya there, I'll keep my eye open here for arrangements.

Ed

Option 3 is probably your best bet. You can get a cheap tent from Argos for little money (or try borrowing one from outdoor mates). I'm not too sure if you're allowed to "sleep" in the car park area because I think you'll need to leave the car parking area after the event.

There are some great deals around on tents. Probably not much help but Auchan in Calais were doing a 3-man dome tent, bed roll, sleeping bag and big rucksack to carry it all in for 25 euros! Find a deal like that in the UK and you'll be laughing. Try Argos, Millets and any local camping stores or garden centres who may have some of last year's stock going (very) cheap. Good luck!

I did the Six Hours of Spa in my Alfa 156 last September and thoroughly enjoyed it so if you have an Estate you shouldn't have a problem http://paulsands.org/spa/spa.htm

Sorry I'm fairly new on this camping idea. So strictly speaking, provided I have a camping ticket for the night, I could just sleep in the boot of the car in the infield? Not a bad idea at all. IN that case, I won't bother with the tent, just bring some old duvet & pillows...

Now you tell me, now that I've just ordered a new tent and mat
Still, I'd prefer to sleep outside, and I always have the option of the car.

Yep only two weeks away and the timetable is still shocking from a marshals point of view!

As for a meet...I have no idea! The ads say that there is going to be entertainment and bars open (on the saturday night i presume?) so maybe somewhere there might be an idea, but then as I have no idea where they are going to be or what they are going to be called then were not gonns get very far!!!

I'll be there on Saturday. My main interest is the LMES race, starting at 2pm, so we might make it to the circuit for lunch - just. Having missed so many of you at the FIA GTs at Donny a few weeks back, I'm looking forward to meeting up if possible - all we need is a cunning plan...

Right grand total of £38 for tickets and camping, and £38 for equipment (£30 for tent, £8 for roll mat), so not too bad really/

I have just typed the timetable and I seem to have spoted a gap in the timetable on the Saturday. It seems that there is a lunch break of sorts between 11.40 and 12.15 where there is drivers autograph session, what does everyone think?

This infield camping.......anyone got any idea where it will be and if it will be signposted? Got the tickets through expecting some kind of map, but alas no-nowt, zippo, zilch. Havent camped at Silverstone other than at a grand prix and thats all pretty well laid out. Thanks for any help!

PS Bring on the cider and overcooked burgers!
