Well, if I didn’t know what ‘neige’ was yesterday, I do this morning! Fortunately it only seems to have settled on the grass. And the wind is bitter!

Makes the warm air ducted heating I fitted worth every penny.....

We still have 17 départements under survey, many people had to stay in their car during the night. Not only on the grass, it sticks on the macadam too! Probably the western part of the country won't be "neigeuse"…

Just rain up here this morning, but lots of it. Doesn't feel quite so cold as yesterday though.

Good luck Mike!

Some wild animals in the woods are disorientated, specially the rabbits. My Yorkies like that, they can play with bouncing bunnies. They dont bite, just for fun. At a cost, one of them suffering a torn rotator cuff. C'est la vie!

I do love a good sulk, John, but am confused as to which Championship you are referring to; Is it for Football, cricket, darts, tennis, Formula 1, ladies Sumo wrestling, Quoits, or tiddlywinks?

I am afraid that none of these hold any interest for me.

Out of interest those types with the 'y' at the end of their name are currently littering the local Aldi supermarket car park, with their own brand of landscape gardening.

Best regards,

Bob.

Ah, there you are Bob! Glad to hear you are your usual self. I was of course referring to Lewis Hamilton's remarkable fifth title. I know nothing about the other activities you mention.

Bauble must be really pleased that such a delightful young man from his neck of the woods is world champion again. I can just see him now pinning his picture to Stevenage town hall and organising a home coming party.

I think you've just answered your own question there Baub: where's the sport in that?

I agree Viv, there is no SPORT in Formula 1.

By the way, did I ever mention I used to own a Viva?

You could regain those heady days if you wished - ACA auctions have a (not-so) fine example of an HB Viva with no reserve this weekend.......

Never mind old Viva's, we were talking Ford Sierra's recently. I saw a P100 Pick-up this morning - whenever did you last see one of those?

Messire Jean des Hauts de France are you visiting a car wrecker or do you have a circus installed in your area? On a regular basis, I can "admire" Scorpios, but those are dismantled after the removal of the once part being worth, the Cossie engine!

P100 !! Thought they all rotted away yonks ago.... Built in SA, I think, which could have something to do with it. Do remember being impressed with one that was re-engineered with XR4x4 running gear. I expect someone made a Cossie P100 as well!

Seen on M-way travel today, on the back of flatbeds- a 4dr Mk2 Escort on French plates. Guess a GL from looks of it, needing resto, but not a rust bucket. Then a very rare car and one for our VX fans on here- a Nova GTE! Looked original but in need of TLC......

No, not visiting a wrecker's (well, not quite) but actually there has been a circus touring the area.

Gerard, there can be a significant savings in funeral cost when you only have to move next door. Why, one probably does not even need a hearse, simply a wheelbarrow. Our John is not so stupid after all>

For sale; Hearse, with body in good condition.

What an eye catching and head turning advert!
You must know that John is living in an area where people like to meet and have pleasant words when one of their relatives leaves.
More smiles than tears with no back thought if you see what I mean. OK, if you go south you'll find old women paid to cry during funerals.

So, I arrive at Ouistreham docks Monday afternoon and stop at security control behind an artic and a small “below tacho” luton bodied van. Into neutral, handbrake on, but engine still running and headlamps on. Look down to check driving time to get there, and when I look up again the van is reversing straight at me! No time to react, and it crashes into my cab...... Now the bizarre bit, the driver (british....) jumps out and immediately let’s forth a tirade of abuse at me for causing the crash! Insurance scam? No, just a case of the idiot not looking in his mirrors. Maybe he adheres to the principle ‘attack is the best form of defence’.....

I was stopped half out of the lane, so hardly inconspicuous, and the right corner of his van body hit the ‘looky-downy’ mirror on the left of my cab, so anyone checking in their door mirror couldn’t have failed to see the big white tractor unit behind! My damage restricted to bent mirror arm and paint scuffing on front panel, fortunately, but I still can’t get over his reasoning that it ‘was my fault’....
