I knew I had it somewhere.... Is this the car Beardy??

That picture!!!

Shireen
You'll be pleased to know that the Butler went off into seventh heaven at the sight of that picture. And he likes the cars in foreground and background as well

PS What do you suppose Roy is saying to John?

I think you will find that this car is not the original McRae. His Championship car is racing in Florida the one in the picture is a 'new build'.

Sounds like something for the old buffers to investigate Abigail.

Thank you both. Those Old Buffers will really enjoy them. Will have to get the Handyman to rig up a projector! Trouble is at least one of the Old Buffers was at the most modern of the events shown! How old is he?

That's the one Shireen, my take on it is here:http://www.marshalspost.com/gallery/200.html

Thanks for the info. Badboy5, I thought it didn't look quite the same but I put it down to "undefined memory fault".

When I can get the upload tool to work there will be a few old pictures of Gurston (1969-70) on this gallery as well. Before anyone asks, they were taken by my late father (although I was there with him!).

Steve,

Those Gurston Photos are superb, thanks for posting them, I really enjoyed seeing them.

It's amazing how little the place has changed since before I was born

(That is of course except for the wonderful "I wouldn't stand there Mate" marshalling positions!)

That'd be the two standing next to their car on the outside of hollow you're referring to...

Great pictures, Beardy.

Thanks por the compliments, if anybody knows who is in any of the cars (particularly the big McClaren) I would be grateful for the information. I am sure the Saab was a 2-stroke!

That's the ones, without so much as a feather duster between them and the cars coming down from Startline. Bless the good old days eh?

I don't know what your worrying about, you can clearly see the sturdy PA support post - they only have to step behind that to be safe as houses. They need the car on post in case it rains! You youngsters with your armco, rescue wagons...mutter...mutter..in my day....

By the way, the next time i'm in anguish because I'm perishing in the Wiscombe rain, I'll take you up on your signature's offer
