My man's getting there ain't he?!

However as you say knowlesy anything can heppen in a race.

Qualifying well is one thing but keeping up a consistent pace over a distance is what Juan needs most of all. Once he starts doing that, he's going to be in amongst em!!

NASN (Setanta Ireland) show the race live from 20:00 I recall. So get onto TVU in time for that and you should be OK.

Channel 5 highlights after midnight Monday.

Why is Red Bull not entering Allmendinger in full season Busch car? Money can't be the problem at Red Bull.

Hehehehe.....

AJ is in a real hole now. I bet he regrets this move he has made. Well no, actually, he probably doesn't as he probably has a new mansion and yacht as a result.

Was it a free move or was it because Red Bull wanted it?

kingfloopy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It isn't just Allmendinger that is in a hole. Toyota in general seems to be in a hole. Red Bull racing has one collective start, granted it resulted in a good finish. Mayfield hasn't made a race yet, Waltrip has missed two in a row, and Jarrett may use up all of his champions provisionals. All of the teams that are not in the top-35 now which is all but Jarrett's team will have a very hard time making the points back up and may end up needing to qualify on speed most of the season.

It really doesn't look good for them right now.

Are the top 35 on points adjusted after every 5 races?

Also: Drivers are reporting that it's super grippy with low grip tyres, meaning they are sliding lots.

Produced some great racing in the Busch though...

Good point, Fire. It would have been smart to have AJ run he whole Busch season, like Ganassi is doing with JPM.

What mystifies me about Toyota is how strong Blaney has been thus far. He had a top 5 car at California and looks like a contender for tomorrow's race as well. The other Toyota teams, with the exception of Vickers top 10 at California (one of his best tracks by the way), are way off the pace. Even Blaney's teammate Mayfield, who not too long ago qualified for the Chase twice, has lagged well behind. Blaney has had a journeyman career. I doubt that he is really this much better than the other Toyota drivers. What have Blaney and his crew chief figured out that the other Toyota drivers and crew chiefs have not? Or has Blaney simply adapated to the Camry exceptionally well?

You make good points about Toyota, kingfloopy. They can forget about relying on the top 35 in points until midseason, and even that will only be possible if the teams in question actually produce a few solid runs like Vickers did at California. With Toyota apparently lacking speed (the second fastest Toyota in yesterday's qualifying was 44th!, having 1 or 2 Toyotas in the field may be a common occurence once Jarrett runs out of his provisionals.

Hazza, for the first five races of the season the points from last year are used but after that the current season's points are used (which is why there was never any concern over JPM missing races since his team was in the top 35 last year. Of course, JPM has proven to be a superb qualifier in cup thus far with runs of 4th, 9th, and 4th). They will change after each race. There is no 5 race freeze, if you will. I hope that helps.

Also worth noting is that Montoya's teammate, Stremme, qualified 2nd. the Dodges had a leg up on the field.

A number of drivers, especially Tony, are upset with Goodyear for bringing a hard tire to Vegas. Tony wanted to see a softer tire with more grip although the speeds would have been higher. Actually, Tony had strong words for Goodyear and wishe that Nascar would replace them with Hoosier.

Hoping Kenny Wallace has a good race - not many underdog teams left to root for! The #4 team did well getting into the field too.
