Nononsensecapeesh should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
When Munnich Motorsport entered three SEAT Leons in the 2013 WTCC, Markus Winkelhock was meant to be one of the drivers but he left before the season started, at least that gave Rob Huff a chance to defend his title after Chevrolet's departure.

Yeah, they were really putting an effort into the series that season. Any reason why Markus left? Although, no doubt Huffy was a great alternative!

Markus wanted to focus on driving for Phoenix Racing in the Blancpain Endurance Series and FIA GTs.

Special Tuning Racing's planned BTCC and WTCC campaigns in 2012, they ended up only contesting the latter.

WSR were looking to enter the WTCC full-time in 2011.

Indeed the Bemani team entered after the demise of the ETCC at the end of '88.

As a one-off guest entry ineligible for points. So I made the wrong choice of words which often happens with me because I'm autistic.

I didn't think Toyota were really that interested in the series. Just an experiment to see what happens

Anyone recall the Carl Fogarty test in an Alfa 156 at Donington ahead of a possible run in the BTCC for 2001. He mentioned it his book.

So, at least for DTM there were a lot of projects.

MG as referred before and Lexus both had projects. Even if the MG was just a draw, the Lexus at least had a test mule that was later to be converted in the GT2 car... that never was also.

MG:
https://www.touringcartimes.com/2005...zt-in-the-dtm/

Lexus:
https://www.touringcartimes.com/2008...dtm-prototype/

From the ITR/DTM time, there were the 1997 Opel and the stillborn Alfa Romeo 156 (Abarth SE069).

Opel:
http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/08/...speed-calibra/

Alfa Romeo (from the book "The Abarths after Carlo Abarth"):
https://scontent.fopo2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...08&oe=61AA7EFD

I also do remember a Alfa Romeo 159 private project for DTM (around 2008/2009) but I cannot find pictures.

In S2000, apart from the Nissan Primera developed by RJN/Pilbeam (MP 89):
https://u.cubeupload.com/arcademygaz/TN012.jpg

I do remember seeing a Ford Mondeo S2000 with the colours of Hotfiel Motorsport, but I cannot find that pic for the life of me :/

In DTM there were a lot of race cars that never were.

The MG ZT, that was just an intention and a drawing:
https://www.touringcartimes.com/2005...zt-in-the-dtm/

Lexus actually had a running prototype of the IS:
https://www.touringcartimes.com/2008...dtm-prototype/

I also remember an Alfa Romeo 159 that was supposed to be run by a privateer team back in 08 or 09 but I cannot find any picture of it.

From the ITR/DTM days of old, we had the 1997 Zackspeed Calibra:
http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/08/...speed-calibra/

And the Abarth project of the 156 that was supposed to be run in 1997 (From the book "The Abarths after Carlo Abarth"):
https://www.facebook.com/155V6Ti/pos...2472106170683/

Also from the Abarth Book, there were two more Alfa Romeo D2 Cars at least projects (Super Touring):

The Alfa Romeo 164 D2 (Abarth SE059) and the Alfa Romeo 146 D2 (SE061). Both never run and at least the 164 is given as lost forever.

The S2000 category saw the Primera developed by RJN and Pilbeam (project MP89):
https://u.cubeupload.com/arcademygaz/TN012.jpg

And a Ford Mondeo made by Hotfiel Motorsport. I've looked everywhere but I cannot find the picture of it. I'll probably still have them in an old cd stored in the attic.

Most recently the one I can remember is the Mazda 3 TCR

Would have been interesting to see Foggy and Aaron Slight renewing their World Superbike battles on four wheels.

Was there anyone who wasn't linked to the BTCC for 2001?

Max Biaggi was linked to Colin Kolles' DTM team in 2006 and briefly tested the Red Bull-liveried Audi in 2007.

I will have to look up to see who else could have been in the BTCC in 2001.

Max Biaggi I knew tested a few F1 cars, not sure how serious he was about a switch to four wheels
