Only 3 weeks til the V8Supercar join us again from the dusty comfort of Queensland Raceway...

We are back to SuperSprint for this race weekend. Three races for the Coates Hire ipswich SuperSprint round of the V8SC Championship series, 2x 60km races on Saturday, 1x 200km race on Sunday.

There has been no talk about tyre choice for the second of the Saturday races, hopefully it will be a soft tyre affair, we get the chance to watch some great passing at a place where it can still be done without too much risk...

The series commentators get excited and claim QR as a test track for the Queensland based teams... except with the reduction in testing, it is limited to one day, and maybe the shakedown of a new chassis if Norwell isnt available. So local knowledge may not be a big advantage..

Can PRA keep up their record of being fast in pretty much every session here? And winning more than most? Will 888 roll out one of their new cars to give their frontline weapon his last genuine tilt at the title? Will LDM get through a weekend without a mechanical failure? Will DJRTP keep Mr Pye in the seat, or will Mr Ambrose *FINALLY* have a go at a place he knows intimately? Will Volvo get through a race meeting without an engine change? Will BJR stop crashing into things? Will Tekno make sure their vibrating gearbox stays at home?

Only a few weeks til we find out...

didnt they announce it will be a hard tyre and a soft tyre race for the saturday

Ambrose should be in for here and SMP, two circuits that he knows well, has tested COTF at and could build alot of confidence, take nothing away from Pye's efforts but I'd like to see Marcos pace in the current spec car with PRA bits, without tyres that are as old as the stone age as well.

Punters trip this year is to the Paperclip.

Nice little chalet booked on the canal at Helensvale, only an hours drive from Amberley but within a stagger of the Oxenford Tavern and the golf course at Hope Island.

Add a visit to the go-karts and the DJR/Penske shop and that should just about do it....

AP are you coming early as DJR/Penske have an open day on the 260715 from 10 till 2 and I have been in previous years and it is a good day, get to go through the workshop and there is always some nice classic cars there and DJ and drivers are always there

Due to some family dramas I've had a few Punters pull out for the weekend.

There's still 5 of us going but I have 3 spare general admission passes with paddock available.

No, this is the company Penske owns sponsoring the team he is a part owner off.

So due to a last minute call up I will be making my first trip to QLD Raceway. I have the No.4 R Sport DVS commodore to wrap on thursday and then on the radio for the rest of the weekend and help out with the car.

So Phil is having another steer, great to hear as his last outing was a solid effort and showed he has the ability to mix it with the usual DVS field.
