GM10 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Considering the whole TCR cars field, which ones are on sale in Australia?

For sure in the TCR Australia we will never see an Opel Astra, maybe a Holden Astra. And I think you don't have the SEAT Leon on the market, haven't you?

They can rebadge the Opel as Holden. They did the same in TCR UK.

Meanwhile, some cheap i30Ns are about to hit the market, as Hyundai moves to the Veloster.

Really? That seems nuts given the relative volumes

Hyundai though aren't drooping the i30 both TCR models will be available after all they are the same car just a different body, its just that some countries don't get the i30N but do get the Veloster N. The USA get the Veloster but no the i30 whereas the UK gets the i30 but not the Veloster.

HMS have already built 40 or so i30Ns.

Rod Salmon endorses the price of a TCR:
Quote:
“When I look at my Mercedes (A45 production car) at $200,000 and I look at a TCR car at $200,000, I go ‘that’s what I should have done’.
If you are going to build a production car properly with quality suspension, brakes, ECU etc the cost is easily on par with a turn-key TCR.

On the other hand the idea of a second series for TCR and GT4 cars on the AASA calendar seems curious. https://www.speedcafe.com/2018/11/13...nned-for-2019/

That Mr Salmon is prepared to underwrite the series, purchasing 10 (apparently) brand new vehicles at $200K a pop, is a ballsy move.

Mind you, an A45 is going to be a lot faster than a TCR car, and will be AWD, so potentially faster than a FWD - but at the end of the day both are a means to an end.

I find it hard to believe he is buying 10 TCR cars but MPC would have happy days if they did...

He could save himself a whole lot of money, if he bought them used.

There's an abundance of them in the usual race car classifieds at the moment.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Chaz Mostert in one of these Hyundai's unless Tickford becoming a Ford Factory Team precludes this and his BMW stuff.

Some great TCR action from Macau, around such a track they really do not seem that slow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HQ4XdSUfic

It opens the door for local touring car drivers to take their cars or skills abroad, much as Mr Morris did with his BMWs racing in Macau and Mr Jones with his Audi!

Michelin announced as control tyre suppliers.

3-race sprint format, with progressive grid too.

Lots of noise about no confirmed teams, drivers, cars or sponsors

Ms Poynting had a steer of the Civic, thanks to the Wall Racing outfit.

From the looks of social media, just about every driver with a racesuit looking for work has had a drive... or hanging around waiting for someone to offer them one...

The teams have done a good job of letting the punters believe that these are factory supported efforts.
