Poultry Le Mans 2013 Campsite Roll Call

Forgetting the namby-pamby's in hotels lets have a roll call as to which campsites TT members are in - you never know we could have some campsite meets if there are enough of us.
I have a group of 30 people staying in Maison Blanche. All ten tenthers will be welcome for a beer.

Havent booked my site yet, last time we were there we stayed on a site a couple of miles from the track. What's the offical sites like? I remember at the 07 MotoGP race we stayed in one of the circuit campsites and it was terrible, no grass uneven surfaces, bad toilets and pretty much non-existant shower facilities

Camp sites are much improved from the old days, each site has good and bad points but at this stage you will find it difficult to get the more favoured sites, everyone has their own opinion on each one but the list price is a good guide to what you get, Tertre Rouge, Maison Blanche and Houx are the most expensive and have better facilities although even the cheapest now have decent showers/toilets,
The advantages of camping on site are obvious but they do not suit everyone, but if you want flat marked out numbered spaces then MB is good, if you want good security then TR, if you want electricity then Houx, if you want party the Houx annex or beausjour are the one's for you but good descriptions are available on Beermountain.com

Alex Toropov should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I guess, I, along with my 2 mates, are in "namby-pamby" group with Aysedasi Not too bad...

Aysedasi, can I ask you then, in which hotel will you live?

We booked 2 rooms (each room can host up to 3 people) at Hotel De Rennes, so theoretically we can share the rooms with 2-3 Ten-Tenths members, who don't have anything booked. The room price for 9 days is 650 euros or so.

After 3 years in Houx and the Annexe me and my brother are this year in Blue Sud.
Not sure what to expect, I love the location of Houx, but that's what we get for booking late...

I guess this is not bad for a hotel during Le Mans raceweek, but with 650 euro you easily can buy campingtickets, and all the tents and equipment you need. Not very environmentally friendly, but you'll have to leave it behind because you can not take it with you on the plane.

I agree with all your points and I would prefer to live in camping area, mainly to experience the emotions of chatting and communicating with fellow fans, but my mates are not really keen to live in tent for 9 days in foreign country (especially female, mainly due to personal safety concerns), so I feel, this year I'll have to stick with the hotel option... if something goes wrong with hotel booking, we'll buy the tents and live in campsite then, I guess!

Well as long as the hotel is paid for you should be OK, but if not when you get down there you should be able to get camping tickets from the ACO and then Carreforre for a tent etc so don't worry

As Simmi said a third year in Houx awaits.

Just praying the lovely French place that sold croissants and coffee comes back rather than the English "fish and chip*" van that turned up last year.

*Allegedly, it all tasted like cardboard superheated to lava-like temperatures.

You can delete Karting Nord, as it's closed for the construction on the new karting track.
