However to stop humans having creativity in any of its forms, which is pretty much what would seem to be required in order to prevent the desires that lead to the overly time consuming engineering projects and other things, would likely require the managed end of human ingenuity as we know and love it. |

Yes think of all that extra weight ! what's wrong with a nice lightweight plastic tie wrap
As for the transporter/motorhome that they are building, by the time it's finished all ICE engines will have been banned on the roads Joking aside it is compelling viewing for us OAPs with our cup of coco (or a glass of red) depending where I am at the time |

In the case of Binky the extra weight might be useful for traction ... The truck is a rather different game that seems to be not unlike the sort of exercise one might go through to achieve the historic continuity of paperwork authenticity for a multiply re-engineered historic racer to qualify for a certain class on the basis of Grandfather rights. |

Looks like the compositor can't do the maths or has been sampling the "ware" (or both) down in one of the local bars

Personally I can't see commercial short haul aeroplanes changing from jet turbine to electric power in my lifetime, and as for long haul ? I think that unless another way of using electricity (or another source of power without propellers) is found then my tiny brain can't see any other way even though I did read the Eagle comic back in the 50s |

When you have a couple of seconds to spare this is "interesting"
https://www.vox.com/2016/5/6/1156920...ns-solar-plane Although nuclear power would seem the way to go that answers a lot of questions there is of course the safety aspect ? |

No Politics! But;
Tomorrow the country goes to the polls for the mot important election of our time (Norman Smith BBC) we have heard all the promises, the plans, the vision of all of the parties. We know what is at stake, we are fully informed, now it is our turn to speak …………… er? John Pienaar interviewing a Labour supporter in Wakefield, a Labour marginal. "Who will you vote for?" "I think that Jeremy Corbin is the best thing that has happened to the Labour Party, but I won't be voting for him because he does not support Brexit." "How will you vote?" "Liberal" Don't worry chaps the country is in safe hands |

I could (just) put up with an electric car coasting to a halt with a dead battery, but I'm not sure I feel the same about an electric plane Incidentally I see that Jaguar are claiming that they will be offering I-pace owners a software upgrade which will improve range, based on lessons learnt from the Formula E racing........ |

Yes, Jag have found software improvements that can add 12 miles to the range, but up to now any upgrade they’ve offered has to be carried out at a dealership. They’re only just beginning to embrace ‘over the air’ upgrades which a certain American manufacturer has been utilising since selling their first car...... |

Taking a car miles (many in cases) to a dealer in order for them to plug a computer in and change a setting sounds very backward to me. I don’t expect to have to go back to the *pple store with my phone every time there is an operating system upgrade...... |
