Would never happen - they're far less likely to believe the lines he is spinning

I wouldn't say the guys at ST's were his mates, the very opposite would be my pick. DJ wouldn't even get a look in there!

Speedwayracer44 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
News just out here is hes entering Carrera Cup and has a ST driver to drive it. Here we go again, does that guy ever give up. How many people has he sucked in over thier. Given the way CC run thier ship I reckon they wouldnt give him a franchise even if he paid up front as you just know what will happen down the road.

Team Kiwi Racing will enter a car in Australia’s Porsche City Index Carrera Cup this year for young Kiwi Andre Heimgartner.
Details of the program have yet to be released.
TKR last competed on Australian soil in the V8Supercar development series running a car for Matthew Hamilton.
Heimgartner is also competing in the V8SuperTourer category this year after clinching back to back NZ Formula Ford titles.
The young kiwi is en-route to Australia Tuesday morning to compete at Bathurst in a formula ford in support to the Armor All 12hr race

Some mates of mine had hot laps in the TKR car about 3-4 months ago - you might still be in luck??

Oh brother, they have no idea what they are in for. I can hear it now "Hey bud, I'm just waiting for some funds to come through but the bank stuffed up. Can you put those repairs on your credit card, and I'll bring some cash to the track tomorrow"

I gotta say I'm very surprised at that!!

Andre has already proved he has bucket loads of talent with great results in F/Ford. He did a great job in round 1 of the V8ST's & has already done some Endurance racing with a Porsche. Its not like they need TKR's (or whoevers) money, or that TKR has a franchise they can use etc, so I cant really see the benefit to Andre in getting involved with the debarcle that is TKR...

Guess it will be another feather is DJ's cap as to the Kiwi's he has helped carve a motorsport career, regardless of the fact most of them would have regardless if TKR existed or not...

DJ: Like we have done with the majority of our drivers, we wanted to give an opportunity to a young talented kiwi driver. He’s just taken back to back formula ford titles, he’s obviously got very good car speed and has a reasonably mature head on his shoulders for a young fella, but we still see it as our role to manage and mentor him through the early days of his career.

Manage, mentor - really?

What's happened to the "development drivers' from the last few years then?

You'd have to think there are better teams Heimgartner could've linked up to race in Carrera Cup..

doubt there's anything wrong with the actual team. it sounds like it will be Triple X Motorsport wearing TKR shirts.. with Big Dave taking all the credit.

Which is the way I think TKR should work.
Although most people hate the whole TKR thing,
I think it could and should work,
But TKR should be a sponsorship company,
Collect all the money from the TKR sponsors and forward the money onto a team that is running a up and coming Kiwi driver,
but not actually have anything to do with the team or running ownership of a car etc.

Basiclly just go to someone like XXX and say
"here is some money to sticker your car in TKR colors and have this guy drive it,"
and stop there.

The tricky bit seems to be fowarding the money on to the team that is running the operation.

"here is some money to sticker your car in TKR colors and have this guy drive it,"

you haven't been watching this show long have you.

What's happened to the "development drivers' from the last few years then?

Who knows o t i, Maybe they ran out of "development funds"?

I don't know why Heimgartners would need to get involved with TKR, and I just can't see why the two XXX guys would either.

I'd love to see how they compare XXX with TKR - 'no comparison' is my pick.

Oh to be a fly on the wall

Technically it is not Triple X contracting/working for TKR, as my understanding is that XXX no longer exists as of end of last year. Just Ian and Todd doing a bit of mercenary work for DJ.

I was going to put ex-XXX guys but thought it looked goofy. You're right though, XXX is defunct. The comparison thing was about them comparing the way TKR operate to the way XXX used to. I don't know if DJ is even over there, but he would only get in the way anyhow.

Todd and Ian are a couple of good operators

the XXX Porsches always looked good and it was a great team - pity it stopped - with them managing the car it should be good and you are right will only benefit from DJ not being there

Not a lot of sponsors on the car? I thought the press release mentioned a couple of new sponsors?
