Yes, was going to post about this earlier. Got the final instructions today..

I'll be racing the Mini, and the Maestro in the MGOC race.

Interestingly, some of the classes have been merged due to low grids.. The Super Mighty Minis have been merged with the 750 Sports and GT challenge (Mini versus 5.7 litre Chevrolet Corvette?) and the MGOC A's have been merged with the B's.. Could be interesting..

I reckon the Anglo American Thoroughbreds are going to be wicked.. Shelby Mustang, Camaros, E-type Jags, a TVR GT, an AC Cobra.. Quite a mix

Anyway, a timetable of sorts:

Qualifying:
MGOC championship: 9:30
TR Register Championship: 9:50
Mighty Minis: 10:15
Anglo American Thoroughbreds: 10:35
Morgan Challenge: 11:00
Crash of the Midlands FFords: 11:20
Super Mighty Minis and 750 Sports/GT: 11:45
Classic FFord 1600: 12:05
Saloon and Sports Challenge: 12:25

Racing: all 15 minutes, (except Morgan Challenge-20 minutes) in above order, starting at 13:30..

Well brikkicker I'll be in the big white Rover - give me a wave - although sadly, and rather bizarrely, I will only be competing in the SMM and 750 sports/gt challenge and not in the 'open' saloon and sports challenge because allegedly a group of the Mini drivers have objected to me be allowed to race on the grounds of the car I'm in (despite me being against them in the earlier race) - and the organisers have bowed to their demands very odd as I am probably more qualified for the second race......any thoughts on this Chris ? What sort of times will your guys be doing round Mallory anyway ?

Righto Mr. Coach - we will come and see you this time!

Bit of an odd decision all round with this sports/saloon race (at the end of the day as well - will it run?) versus the 750 sports and saloons. I'd have thought the Minis would complain more about the 7 litre Chevvy that'll spin them round on Stebbe straight!

Super Mighty lap times are around the minute mark if I recall correctly from last year, but they have new tyres this year, so perhaps could go a second quicker I guess.

I don't think the current merge of certain classes is going to please many people. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the final line up is quite different.

Excellent - I will look out for you to Mr.Y, what number you running?
The sports/saloon race is defo on, I was in well before it was fully subscribed but due to subsequent complaints was dropped- my friend at PIP Control Systems who has kindly sponsored me for the day (i.e. paid both entry fees has also withdrawn from the race in protest (he is one of the Morgan +8 stalwarts)but it will still be a full grid. Forecast is rain all the way to Saturday!

Lets hope Sunday is dry then

Bit surprised about the withdrawl of your friend, but I guess he's still doing the Morgan race.. ?

Anyway - I'll be in the #36 Mini (blue/silver), and in the #11 Maestro (red top/yellow bottom). I'll be the one shuttling back and forth on the Saturday, because we only have one trailer

Well he is doing the Morgan race and the Sports/GT 750 thingy so he is pretty busy anyway.
Hope you haven't got to shuttle too far - anyway serves you right for being greedy and having TWO racecars !!

I know, it's worse when you have to prepare them both for a weekend such as this! Coupled with a slightly suspect bent valve on the tow car, and we could be in for interesting times

Are you heading up on Saturday night? We'll be stopping over on Saturday night in in the blue/purple Maestro camper van

Tough life ! Nope I shall be driving up on Sunday morning, rather early as my co-entrant/sponsor wants to get a good paddock spot together, so I will probably leave Essex about 6 a.m. - you'll probably find me asleep in the back of my dayvan amongst spare wheels, tools and other debris, as we have two parties to go to on the Saturday night. I look forward to watching the Mini race last time I saw them was at BH - great spectacle coming out of Druids 3 a breast.
