Afraid not.Too depressing to continue from memory. And you seem to be answering your own question.Gilles crashed in qualifying at Zolder.I guess what you have is the hospital he actually was pronounced dead in.
There is website with a definitive list some where. I will try to find it for you.

Im just working off forix looking at the ones who died young, and it doesn't say who was killed in a race - in the 1960s the average life span for a F1 driver seemed to be about 30 years old!

That was an F2 race. Ronnie Peterson died as the result of the injuries he suffered in the 1978 Italian GP startline accident at Monza.

Fangio died at old age, and Gunnar Nilsson, for example, died young from cancer. Like Armco Bender says, that list is of drivers who have died, regardless of cause.

Thanks Armco - great work - though I think 23 drivers is a hellava lot!

I've found quite a few more paralysed, comatosed, and permanently injured as well. This makes me appreciate the sport even more, knowing they are putting their life on the line.

Some on that list were never F1 drivers.Americans who took part in the Indy 500 when it officially counted for the World Drivers Championship 1950-60.
Fangio certainly died of old age.James Hunt also died in bed.One statistic that always amazes me is that of the 10 world champions now deceased only Senna died in a F1 WC GP.
Farina -road Accident 1966
Fangio-old age 1995
Ascari-testing sports car 1955
Hawthorn-road accident 1959
Graham Hill-plane crash 1975
Jim Clark-F2 race -1968
Jochen Rindt-F1 practice-1970
Denny Hulme-heart attack while driving in Bathurst 1000-1992
James Hunt-heart attack 1993
Ayrton Senna-Imola 1994

MiniMe motor racing is dangerous, but if compared to mountaineering or sky diving 23 in 50 odd years isn't too bad.

The Hans Stuck on that list was born 27 December 1900 and died on 8 February 1978.
The profile also mentions that Hans Stuck is the "Father of Hans Stuck" - maybe I missed something? LOL
