daz90 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
my 19 was naff and it kept going wrong, when i bought it it was in good nick, but in the 4 months i had it i had to have a full exhaust, new brakes on the front, and the heater packed up, just didnt enjoy owning that car, and i got fed up with it so i got rid before it let me down badly, mind u the garage i got it from were a bit shady.

best car i have ever owned though is a 1988 sierra 1.6L it never once let me down and i had it for a year and a half, i only got rid of that because i wanted something a bit more modern and with 1 or 2 electric gizmos such as windows sunroof etc, and central locking, ah magic... the sierra had none of them, only a sunroof and a radio cassete but i liked it.

Unfortunately, my first car was a lime green LJ Torana. It wasn't long after that, I vowed to drive nothing but the Blue Oval.

Mine was a late 1950's Ford Anglia van. It had the old side valve engine (1172 cc) and a three speed gear box. The widscreen wipers worked off a vacuum from the inlet/exhaust manifold and so every time you accellerated the wipers slowed to almost a standstill. Take your foot off the throttle and they went bananas!

1981 Chevrolet Citation.

Utterly horrible car, no power, no brakes, no handling.

Two cars later I had 1310cc Cooper S. Great car, but so unreliable. Kept killing universal joints.

My dad has a MG 1300, which we put a new engine in last year. It doesn't get used much, but it always starts if not first, second time. Great little cars and great fun to drive, they seem faster than they actually are.

That brings back bad memories. I was also afflicted with the Morris 1100s for a first car. Fortunately I survived when after owning it for 30 days it impaled itself on a length of Armco.
